Andres Segovia
Segovia Wikipedia
The Paris film 1954 - have to put up with a couple very limited ads between movements/pieces, plus there is a master class and an interview tacked on.
If any of the truly greats listed in this thread can/could do what Segovia actually did, I would have to see it to believe it. Imagine what he was like in his youth. There are plenty of early recordings but even with the technical limitations of those times you can hear the breathtaking virtuosity...

Kingfish Ingram deserves a mention no doubt.

This. Know guys personally who worked with him. Great showman and capable but shouldn't be mentioned in this thread.

Much of the technical technique attributed to Roads, EVH, Vai, etc. was already done by classical guitarist many years prior. There is video of classical guitarist using two handed tapping in the early 1950s.

Yep. EVH and Stanley Jordan popularized and/or expanded the technique but didn't invent it. Jordan may have been the first to use it as an exclusive style though.

Jordan's style isn't really "two hand tapping", as we commonly refer to it - essentially it is a different discipline on the guitar. First, the strings are set extremely low. Second, the guitar is tuned to fourths (not fifths) and the chord shapes are the same all over the fretboard. Finally, rather than for emphasis or a solo technique, the two hand on the fretboard players are more like piano players and do all the melody/single note playing on the neck, rather than portions of solos. I don't think Stanley was even the first guy to combine all these things, either, but he was its first well-known virtuoso - sort of a jazz/rock fusion format building on what the Larry Carltons of the world had done in the 60s/70s.
So, not really an apples to apples comparison for what Stanley does and shredders like EVH, Satch, Vai, etc.

We’ll actually never know

Toss up between Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen and Ted Nugent.

To ask this, I question if you're even a fan of guitar, and not just a fan of a particular style. There are several popular basic guitar designs and many styles. Each of these types of players have skills that players of other styles don't:
Classical
Flamenco
Steel-string flatpicker
Steel-string fingerstyle
Electric rock
etc.
So the contributions to the personal library of great music that each of us have, come from many players. I can name favorite guitarists in several styles, but I would never compare them to each other, because it doesn't make sense to.

Dandy Lion: Chaconne ~ Yepes (DEP)
One of the best concerts I've ever been to was Narciso Yepes! The crowd kept calling him out for encores, and finally he said his footstool was tired, so he had to call it a night. I've also seen Andrés Segovia, Julian Bream, Sharon Isbin, The Romeros (the original version with the father), etc., although my favorite classical guitarist is the very obscure George Sakellariou.
I'm more into steel string fingerstyle these days. My favorite guitarist, Pierre Bensusan, is kind of obscure too, but for people who know his music, his concerts are mesmerizing.

Id put Tom Marello in the last 50 of a 500 group listing. He's not one of the greatest. Uses too many pedals. one pedal sparingly? OK. Too much? Hell no.

eh, i don't know who really is the best ever.
just like throwing Roy Clark's name in the conversation.
I don't think many people realize how good he was.

Roy Clark was sick.
That being said, I saw a guy playing a Zither.
It is the theme song from the movie “The third man”
Scope it out
A crazy stringed instrument
