If you are going to try fishing sacalait, best bet would be a little bit off the Sabine River on some structure. They have been moving around instead of stacking up lately.

My dad was up there over the weekend and only caught 6 keepers between Friday and Saturday.

With the warm weather this week it'll hopefully be better this weekend. Gonna be up there fishin myself.

Fished up there this weekend. Two boats and we had 11 keepers. Very slow for us, but it was our first time there, so there was a lot of learning. Water was 49 when we started Friday mid-morning and warmed up to about 55 by saturday afternoon. All fish caught in 4-6 ft of water in the grass with wood in the area. We caught on nearly everything we fished - jig and craw, traps, cranks, T-rigged lizard. They were all about to pop... this week should push them up on the beds and fishing will be great.

Fished there this weekend. Water was pretty stained even in the south end of the lake. Water temp is still pretty cold (high 50's). It is supposed to rain there most of the week so I am not sure how that will effect the fishing.

I have baits for stained water and the fish have to eat.

Hopefully the sun comes out and warms the water..

Did y'all try Housen?
Never seen stained water there before....

I heard the Chesapeake tourney winner had 55lbs for 2 days. The TOBI will be this coming weekend.

If I can get my new trolling motor mounted this week, we're headed up Friday after work. Small club tournament.

This may be the last time this boat sees the water with me in it. Going to park it out front with a sign next Monday.

Well that sucks. My buddy should have checked that before making his vacation.
They absolutely take over the lake.
Still we will have next week too.
We like night fishing during their tournaments, we always do well.

Nah, we stayed in hickory creek and fished. There were a few guys catching some. Mostly along the edges of the grass in about 4-6 feet.

Yes I got depressed thinking TOBI was this weekend.

I been there for that, it sucks.
Night fishing is on fire though, fish are spooked during the day and feed at night.

Polar Pop and I were planning on going to Caddo on Sunday, but it's under a flood warning and still rising.

We may end up fishing Toledo Sunday afternoon now...

That's why I am waiting on Saline. Screw high water.
