Are the playoffs even realistic at this point?

We're currently 2.5 games behind #8 seed Oklahoma City and a half game behind Phoenix Suns (first out). So far this is the same shite, different year--key players out for extended periods of time (weeks and months). We will have to go on some hot win streaks in order to catch OKC, and we need to win these easier home games, but I don't see how it can happen with the current health of our team and absence of superstars.
I think Monty Williams is a great man, and I think he can be successful at another place. However, I think we need to evaluate the consistency of the talent of this team and also what our medical staff is doing to condition these guys. Unless something changes, how can we expect anything different? I've been waiting till next season for several years now.

I meant Phoenix. Should've had my coffee first

If we hadn't played so well against the West this year I'd say no, but we have, so I don't think we can rule it out yet.

I don't think the medical staff are a problem as much as they can be improved. There's lots of new tech out there that promises to help diagnose and correct problems before they start. That probably could have helped Jrue, not much you can do about the injuries to Ryno and AD though. But I think the Pelicans have been hit hard enough by key injuries that it would be worth investing in.

With the current injuries to Ryno and Davis it'll be tough. I don't think Phoenix really has a shot, because they just got worse (albeit not as bad as I thought they would end up) and their schedule gets more difficult.
The Durant injury is the only thing that leaves a glimmer of hope.

Our maybe 40 percent chance with a healthy team after the break imo are now at about 2%

Realistic? Sure
Probable? Nah

Only way I see us making the playoffs is if Westbrook has some sort of bad injury. Other than that, I don't see it happening.

Why does this keep getting brought up Multiple times a day? One thread to rule them all, please. And to answer your question NOOOOOO!!!!! They have no been realistic since before the season started: next year they will be "realistic" but it won't be until 16-17 until we actually appear in the playoffs bc the west is too deep

I just feel the inevitable.
No playoffs and no pick
No playoffs and no pick

I'd say 12% is a little high, at the most optimistic time all season I wouldn't have put the chances higher than 15% imo. Those Hollinger rankings aren't very good imo.. Spurs only 1.5% chance to win it all, Clippers at 13.2% ?!?

Our next 3 games are against the East. We play Boston in March, Sacramento twice and the Lakers once. So we are probably eliminated because we will lose those games.
Seriously though, I think we had a shot if it weren't for the injuries. AD, Jrue and Ryno are our core 3 and they are all out. Gordon, Reke and Asik may not be enough to get us in.

Well thank frick the Suns schedule is exponentially harder than ours is and they traded away Goran Dragic.
