Right, because all Walmart workers are mindless, socialist Obamabots.

I tend to go to Wal-mart late at night a lot. 1 register open, on a good night 2. Long arse lines too with tons of people having a shop cart full.
Now'll they'll only be able to afford to keep one register open every half hour.

and this is how its supposed to work, let the business decide what to pay the employees, not have the government force a minimum wage on the business
The big problem with that is businesses decide what they pay employees based on the labor market demands.
But the labor market demands are screwed up because of welfare and government assistance.
A person making $7.25 an hour is not a content person. $290 gross/week is not enough to live off of, assuming 40 hour work weeks. They will demand more.
A person making $7.25 an hour and automatically getting welfare to make ends meet is a different story. They'll be a lot more content to stay that way.
Thus you have an indirect subsidy of Walmart's labor by the government, and labor rates will not increase the way they would in a more free market. In order to fix the problem that welfare created, you'd need to meddle more with the market in the form of minimum wage.

I have no clue how someone lives off $360 gross a week.
It essentially shifts from individual to corporate welfare. You can have a high minimum wage which serves as a burden to the private sector, or a low minimum wage which puts these folks on food stamps and other programs.

Most of the ones still making entry level wages after a decent amount of time on the job are.

Great, now there will be negative cashiers available at noon on a Saturday

Last time I went to walmart on a Saturday I felt like some sort of fricking superhuman, after seeing all the scooterfatties, teen moms, neck tats and payday shoppers. It made me feel like I lucked out in the gene pool, but there I was, at the same place as everyone else. "In the land of the blind, the man with one eye is king."

That's my favorite part of Walmart.
If I ever feel like I'm having a bad day, I go to Walmart and look around for a while.
I leave on top of the world

Add in welfare, food stamps, free medical, housing, free cell phones, and all the other free government shite and they are making well above the average income

In response to retaining workers as labor market tightens.
So basically the free market works.

They are also bumping all the current employees pay and now there's an actual difference between what the managers make and the employees
Department managers are going up to 13 and hour and eventually to 15 and hour. Before they made less than 10 depending on how long they have been there
