You have to allow that Jennings might...he just very well may...improve in his second year.

wont happen, he has made the same mistakes with the same tools for 14 games as a starter, there is no sign of physical improvement or mental improvement in his play.

Aside from the read option, which he was average at...average is a major improvement.

Cam pretty much admitted that some of this was on coaching. He was coaching AJ the same way he coached Mett. I trust that Cam will simplify things more for AJ this off-season and focus more on QB fundamentals, rather than expecting has first time QB to come out of the gate trying to read NFL route progressions.

another 8-5 with no passing game and vanilla play calling on both sides of the ball again --time to consider the broadcast booth.

shite, no more 70% go routes to Dural? If we get any simpler we will punt on first.

zero sign that this was even attempted

He was just trying to take some pressure off AJ. There is a zero percent chance he didn't alter his calls and methods with AJ versus Mett, their skill set is night and day.

IF he didn't alter, we should take away his drivers license and right to vote.

I am not a negatron, but Miles does seem to have a problem with fitting his QB to his offense, or fitting his offense to his QB.

Most high school coaches can do this. I haven't figured out why Les has so much trouble in this area.

This.

I've posted this 1000 times. I should really bookmark it.

In our first 4 games, Cameron attempted to run the 2013 Vertical Passing Offense that we used when we had Mett/ODB/Landry. If you want proof of this, look at Dural's numbers for those games. He was the No. 1 option on most of those plays running deep routes.

Wisconsin - 3 Rec. 151 Yd. 1 TD
Sam Houston - 3 Rec. 140 Yd. 3 TD
ULM - 6 Rec. 79 Yd.
MSST - 6 Rec. 124 Yd.

After the events that transpired against MSST and the way Brandon Harris performed relative to how Jennings performed, we started to see the staff begin to mull a QB change. Then Jennings went out and had his 3 TO game against NMST while Harris had like 7 consecutive TD drives.

The staff then implements the QB change while maintaining the same offensive scheme of 2013... and Harris crumbles.

At that point, we decide to scrap everything and play 1950s style football. In our next four games, we went 4-1 including an officiating miscue and the Chavis Prevent Defense with the following rushing numbers:

Florida - 50 Carries 195 Yards
Kentucky - 51 Carries 303 Yards
Mississippi - 55 Carries 264 Yards
Alabama - 56 Carries 183 Yards

Then we tried this against Arkansas without Vadal and Porter in the lineup. Our OL was abused all night, our RBs averaged 2 ypc and Jennings was running for his life all night.

Then we switch it up again, implementing some read-option and jet sweeps, and even involving the TEs in the passing game against ND. If not for Chavis checking out early in the bowl game, we win each of those as well.

I expect a great deal of growth both from Jennings and Cameron heading into the 2015 opener.

Most hs coaches put the most athletic guy on the team and let him run circles around guys that will never play college football.

Other than 2014 and crowton trying to make JJ an option qb. When else has Miles not had an offense catered to his qb?

Basically 3 out of 10 seasons.

Miles needs to WIN a Championship On his OWN, with his home grown recruits... Develop a QB on his own

Sec championship count?

Or only CFB playoff.

Saban, Meyer, chizik, jimbo are the only coaches to win one since Les.

So who the hell out there would you get to replace him? Since we are saying success is measured in winning national championships.

I was going to say win at least an SECCG but I like this quote better - it may get us down the road

Then sign him for life, then an extension for his corpse for 4 years with an option on the 5th year.

With the NFL talent he has and the highest paid coaching staff on the planet I want him to beat Alabama from time to time and maybe win the west or maybe win a bowl game, that would be fun.

What you pay the coaching staff matters very little in the grand scheme of college football.

Recruiting Budgets
Auburn SEC $1,384,188
Alabama SEC $983,721
Florida SEC $687,227
Arkansas SEC $615,252
LSU SEC $577,442
Mississippi SEC $557,208
Mississippi State SEC $468,536
Texas A&M SEC $401,167

Football Operations Budgets
Alabama $116,607,913
LSU $105,312,018
Auburn $103, 126,413
Arkansas $99,770,840
Texas A&M $93,957,906
Mississippi $71,315,807
Mississippi State $62,764,025

Conference Records Since 2009
Alabama - 45-7
LSU - 35-15
Auburn 28-22
Texas A&M - 26-23
Mississippi State 22-26
Arkansas 19-29
Mississippi 16-32

I am a pumper and like Les Miles.

If LSU does not improve in 2015 (9-4 or better), I will only be willing to give Les one more year. No improvement then, in 2016, and he should be terminated. (He'll be rich then for sure!)

If 8-5 in 2015, then we must be at least 10-3 in 2016.

I fully believe Les Miles will get us back to double digit wins annually likely in 2015 but surely by 2016.

Thank you, LSU absolutely is a prime example of a highly paid head coach and staff that doesn't translate to winning at an elite level.
