Hey everyone looking for a place around Baton Rouge that sells 55 gallon plastic drums with lids. Was wanting to buy some in the off season. Internet has great prices but freight is crazy. Cheaper to fill 55 gallon drum with corn at feed company than buy 50 lb bags on after the other. Anyway. Thanks for the help

Someone in Slidell is always selling them on Craigslist, I believe they're food-grade, too.

I bought a bunch a few years back in BR by just searching the Internet and looking in the yellow pages. This place had all kinds. Most were from car wash places and they were like $15 per

I have a few dozen steel drums with lids you can have if you want. Had latex paint in the so you would have to clean but they clean easy.

Come to my house and I will give you a few. I have some 55 and 30 gallon drums. To cut in half, use a circle saw. Also great for making fish barrels when running trotlines.

We used to do this, but there were two problems.
One, it's a pain in the arse to move a full barrel of corn around unless you fill it in the back of the truck and take it straight to the feeder.
Two, the corn was very "dirty". There were chunks stuck together, pieces of cob, etc.. Would clog up the feeders. I don't hunt much anymore, but I'm pretty sure everyone I used to hunt with just switched back to sacks.
