It became outdated when the NFL created its own network to control its own publicity, and athletes decided to turn to social media to bypass the rest of the media altogether.

How is this any different from the "non-answer team speak" we get from everyone else?

Plus, this isn't a new phenomenon.
Lynch didn't talk to the media last year.
Lynch didn't talk to the media In college.
Lynch didn't talk to the media In high school.

He's gone on record saying the reason he doesn't talk to the media is because it inevitably leads to being asked about himself. And he can only say the credit belongs to his teammates (5 lineman, te, fb, Wrs, etc) so many times before the shite gets old.
