Spent the night there on the way back to DFW from the Bama game. Merci Beaucoup, Maglieauxs, The Landing all have decent food. Drive out to Melrose plantation if you're up for a road trip. Front St. shops are kinda fun. Enjoy your weekend away.

lunch at Almost Home on the lake. Home cooked buffet style lunch.

That's the one I was thinking of on the river. It looks like it has a nice atmosphere and the outdoor dining would be nice on the river. Have no idea what the food is like, though.

It might be a good option. I think it fits the desires if the food is good.
