What's the ballsiest power-move you've ever made?

I'm starting to feel like it is really easy to go through life without having to make any truly big difference making decisions that change the outcome of your life. I'm scared that I'm never going to do anything to switch things up, and I'm just going to live the same boring middle-class suburban 9 to 5 working life as everyone else around me. I feel like I've had such an easy life. I haven't really had to work very hard for anything and I've just accepted the path of my life so far because it is easy. I've just let life happen to me and haven't ever really taken control of my own destiny and made a power-move. I want to switch things up and do something "stupid" because I want to.
What big, risky, possibly questionable decision have you made in your life because you knew you had to do it?
Quit your job? Changed careers? Killed a man? Asked someone to marry you? Moved away? Turned down a job for a girl? Turned down a girl for a job?
I want to hear some stories.

I big leagued a full-bird colonel while I was in sanitized DCU's in country.
"That's a force protection issue, Sir. Stay in your lane..."

Sadly, none. I live a safe life because I am financially locked down at the moment. I think once my career is further down the road I will be able to make some risky decisions. I have to lay a solid foundation at the moment though.
There was this weekend in Tijuana though...

Moved across the country. The first few months were rough (new city, lots of expenses, hadn't made friends yet), but looking back it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Looking forward to moving again in a few years.

moved out of state to be a small fish in a big pond. changed careers. then after doing enough of that, decided to take a chance on my dream job- succeeded. fell and love and jumped despite having a successful bachelorhood. moved out of country with her.
destiny is what you make of it.

I'm on the OT every waking hour. Leaves little time for ballsy power moves.

Once yelled and cussed out my boss and got fired and the next day I came back like nothing happened to the weekly meeting.
Wore a toupee for a while.
Tried to drug my bosses drink.

Sometimes when I feel like walking on the wild side, I switch my route to work. This blows my hair back.

My work computer once didn't have enough RAM in it. I purchased and added more on my on. Pretty edgy stuff, if you ask me. Until I got 30 days probation for it.

I'm with you
Only thing that really made me nervous was walking into CEO's office and telling I needed my salary doubled and a Director's position or I was walking.
I was kind of hoping he'd force my hand........I got the raise.
I'm still miserable and not in 100% control of my future.
I am so ready to strike out on my own

Quit your job? Yes, a few times for better opportunities.
Changed careers? Yes. Started in construction, then followed my hobby modifying vehicles and high performance work on cars, auto repair. Did that a few years, managed a few shops... Then decided to take control of my destiny. Went back to school at night for Project Management and got back into construction. Smartest move I ever made....
Killed a man? ....
Asked someone to marry you? Yes
Moved away? More than once. Once for school then moved back. Then again for my career and I still live in Houston.
Turned down a job for a girl? No, that's dumb...
Turned down a girl for a job? I would in a heartbeat.....

One easy change is to NOT LIVE IN THE STUPID SUBURBS.
If you live in a major city the social, career, fitness, cultural and volunteerism opportunities are quite literally endless, and are steps from your door.
When you live in the suburbs you wind up watching reality television and eating shitty food and hating your wife (and your life IMO). My forced year of exile in the suburbs was the most miserable time of my life, but I value it for hammering home that I should never make that mistake again.
