You fricking dickheads are amazing. This guy comes to LSU...busts his arse every day in practice to try and play for the team he loves...does the best he physically can and plays because the coaches tell him to get in the game. He speaks well..bleeds purple and gold, and gives everything he can on the field. And you dickheads say shite like this??? He was apparently, at some point, the best option we had..and he tried his best. I respect every guy that has the balls to sacrifice sweat and blood for this school whether they play a down or not. I hope he makes a trillion dollars in the NFL..or in some field that his degree helped him to achieve. And I hope he kicks the shite out of every one of you who bad mouths a kid who gave all he could. Yeah...frick you guys. Go root for Alabama you pathetic pieces of shite. Thanks.

Thank God he's there.

No reason for him to start this year, or last. He o's lived for being a Tiger, it that J's no reason not to admit the obvviohs......be simply had limited skikkseus which made his production way below an SEC mlb expectations.

Look at it like this . . .

DJ Welter gets offered a scholarship from LSU to play football. He signs it - wouldn't you?

He gets on campus, puts in the effort, gets the starting job, and takes the field like Coach 59 told him to - wouldn't you?

He gives a 100%, does his best - wouldn't you?

So what's the problem with DJ Welter? IMO, there wasn't one. The problem was with the coaches who offered him and were too slow to see that there was a better player on the roster. Beckwith should've been playing more and sooner. Whose to blame that he didn't - Welter? Nope, blame Coach 59.

I blame him for both the Bama and ND losses....someone has to step up and make a play to stop those drives. He chose not to do that.....that does not make him a bad person. Just a very average linebacker.

I blame the people who make personnel decisions.

Idk why this fanbase Is quick to eat their own... What was he supposed to do? "Nah coach, I don't want to play, the guy behind me is better"?

People need to stop talking so much shite about these guys. I won't talk shite about a guy not being better. It's one thing to call honey badger a frick up. He's had 100 chances. It's one thing to call periloux the same. Call out Jefferson for his attitude. Etc.

This is not necessary. Frankly, as much as I'd like to see Harris start, I feel bad for the shite Jennings catches. But this place if for public opinion and you show your own intelligence with it.

Blame him? You blame him? Who in the Hell are you to assess blame?

Look at it this way.
He had a scholarship to a great football school
He played for that school
He was selected to play in an all-star game
He actually played in that game

And you spent your Saturday evening playing with your..................................................................................................... computer

Nah. Blame the coaches, for the most part, Alexander's stupid penalty, unfortunate ref calls, and Chavis with one foot out the door.

Welter was starting due to coaches decision. Did he play badly most of the time? Yes. But, the coaches put him out there. I'm sure he tried to do what he could.

It's not personal against this kid. He did not make the plays...you keep making excuses for him that's ok. 8-5 sucks and especially when you have a top 10 national program. One of the top reasons we have slipped is our player evaluation and development. We need to find kids that will make the plays to win these key games.

I really thought you were just trolling.

How many snaps did he even get vs Alabama and ND?
And it's welter's fault we lost?

You are a special kind of stupid.
I bet your friends and family are proud.

While directed at him, the frustration was with the staff not making the switch earlier imo. Still, you're right though.

Never hated Welter, hated that the coaches kept playing him. A lesser person would have quit or asked not to play. He fought hard. Same way I feel about AJ, they might both be terrible, but they work hard. Not their fault it doesn't translate and they keep getting asked to display how bad they are.

Exactly...they are terrible. And if you are part of the 11 on the field then you certainly take responsibility for the loss. That's the nature of CFB today.

Anyone nicknamed the "freak" is asking for criticism should he underperform. AJ is the qb, a blind person could listen to the radio and figure out real quick how effective he is. Regardless neither got it like welter did.

Good Lord you are blind to simple truths. Freak was bad mouthed all year last year and you can deny it all you want, but it happened. Jennings gets DESTROYED seemingly everyday on this board. Don't see people running around saying, "leave him alone" etc etc.

Welter sucked as a MLB for LSU. That's it. Sure you could blame coaches for keeping him out there, but the fact remains that he was bad. Good job he did everything he was asked of and busted his arse to get to where he is at, but it still doesn't hide the fact that he was a very bad starter for LSU.

People on here get so defensive of this dude. Nobody is bad mouthing him as a student, or person in general. People seriously disliked his bad play. Hopefully he can get a chance on the next level or somewhere else, but the dude was terrible as an LSU linebacker and there is nothing wrong with saying that.

I mean people are still making jokes about McCray's play at LSU as well as Hatcher's (a previously bad LB for LSU). McCray made a niche in special teams in the NFL, and I believe Welter could possibly do the same.

I don't know about other people, but I don't care enough to hate anybody. I will say guys are bad when they are though.
