Yes that ONE example, that happened 30 years ago, of a parent not receiving jail time for the revenge murder has already been mentioned in this thread a million times already.

And let's not forget that Plauche ventilated the dude on live TV. The cops kind of had to go through the motions on that one.

Give you 15 instances where a child killer was released early, the parents hunted him down and killed him, the police investigated, fingered the parents, arrested them and there was a trial?
yes....over lets say since Gary Plauche...that gives you 30 years.

My answer was in the second part of my post that you, ahem, "forgot" to quote.

If revenge is good enough for Marcellus Wallace, it's good enough for me. And he didn't even get murdered.

The cops aren't releasing a recent picture to the family so that pretty much shoots down the "no way this happens in real life" theory.
The cops obviously have at least a minimal concern about the possibility.

I concede the point that the scenario isn't a weekly occurrence.
you should be able to give a few instances of a 30 year time frame

Two instances have been given.

Your point that it does not happen very often is valid.
However, no jury is going to put a father in jail for murdering his child's murderer. If the father is this case wants revenge, he's pretty much got the green light.

I'll give a third: John Gotti killed the dude that ran over his kid. By accident.
Or at least we think so. Because he was never arrested for it nor was there a trial!
Beginning to see how this hypothetical might play out?

I don't really understand your argument of "well it doesn't really happen that often"

He seems to be under the theory that a) released child killers get out early weekly and b) the second the parents or anybody else lays a finger on him, they're getting arrested and going to trial.
Apparently, they're going to leave forensic evidence all over the place and absolutely nobody will help them out with an alibi or whatnot. And the cops will suddenly have a 100% solve rate on crimes and the willingness to see this thing through.

frick... if I was a cop I'd chalk it up as an unsolvable case. Bury the file and move on to the next one.
