I love all the Taken wannabe vigilantes in this thread. No you would not kill this man and you know it.

Happens every time.

I understand wanting to get vengeance for something like this but actually doing it instead of typing it out behind the safety of a keyboard are completely different things. Not many people here (I assume some soldiers) know what it is to take someone's life and I doubt anyone here could do it for revenge or any other reason.

My vengeance wouldn't end with his life if that was my child. I'd have a list of everyone who had a hand of letting that killer go free.

See this is the guy I'd want on my team.

He deserves life in prison or death. All the torture talk is pretty twisted. It's a travesty that he will go free but using "parenthood" as a justification for why any gruesome method of vigilantism is justified or morally unassailable is BS. I understand the emotions but this is exactly why justice should be administered by a third party. I would understand wanting to kill the guy but it would be irrational given that the end result is a lengthy prison sentence for the perpetrator. It's just not rational.

This guy gets it

I doubt it, if they had opportunity.

There's a reason why the cops aren't releasing any information to the family.

So family or loved ones aren't good enough? It has to specifically be an 11 year old daughter?

Well played, you had me on the hook for quite a while. You are definitely the best on here that I've seen.

Terd has already considered this in depth obviously

He's already figured out his wife would be ok and thought about his job security if he was released.

How do you expect soldiers to kill for country but doubt fathers to avenge a child? Makes no sense.

Suppose the ones who think they actually would do it do not want to say so on the internet?

Oh, so you're ok with the Norway mass murder spending a decade in minimum security prison? Do you think we should have given John Wayne Gacy a few years in the slammer followed by community service? Dumbass.

You're an idiot, and a coward. My life would long since be ruined. Any middle class parent knows that your child is your only responsibility.

This thread is getting all sorts of wacky.

quote:

No way anybody has the guts to kill somebody that murdered their child...well, except for this dude on the Internet that I've (probably) never actually met. HE has what it takes!

EDIT: Just hooked to your post. I know that was somebody else's position.

Soldiers aren't facing prison or the chair for killing Jihadists. They are also fighting in self-defense a lot of times. I believe it would be much easier to kill in self-defense than to torture and murder someone no matter the circumstances.

ETA: Many soldiers are also messed up for life after having to kill people. It's mentally taxing for them

I'm sure most would imagine going Josey Wales on a family member's killer. It's a pretty culturally popular notion in our society.

So poor people aren't capable of loving their child and making their safety a responsibility. Got it.

Also...what if you have other children? Let them suffer financially and not have you present as a parent to them? Make them forever feel that the other child's revenge was more important to you than being there for them? Yeah that kid won't be messed up from that. Poor child already has to deal with loss of their sibling, now they have to deal with loss of their father in their life.
