I don't think I'd put guys like Hernandez in this thread since they actually lived up to their potential but squandered it away soon after. Same with Gordon, who hasn't really even squandered it yet.

I hesitate to put Justin Blackmon on the list, but he might be a good candidate. Then there are basketball players like Sebastian Telfair and Tim Thomas who never progressed from what they did as high school juniors. Not legal trouble, but they definitely didn't get the difference between being a great pro and a great high school talent.

Yea, but Gordon showed he actually has the talent to be the best in the world at what he does.

And now he cant get on the field.

He is maximizing wasted talent.

All those other dudes are just supposed wasted talent or talents that didnt pan out cuz they werent that good once they went up in leagues.

eta:

But yea, I guess Gordon still has hope. Hes wasted the frick out of it so far tho

He was definitely a waste of talent in college. The guy only really played one year (2010) before getting the boot from Baylor. He didn't even play at Utah.

And he has now missed like 13 games in two years because of the same issues that held him out in college.
