There is no pleasing most of you. Who knows how this hire will go? Why not just let it play out and reserve judgement for when/if it fails? I'm amazed to see that Les is still able to convince all these recruits to come to Baton Rouge knowing that the fans can and will turn on you at a moments notice. It's the most wishy washy fanbase in the country. You all can praise Les Miles for bringing in great recruiting classes, but it's all his fault when they're so good that they decide it's in their best interest to enter the draft as underclassmen. I could go on and on about all of the hypocritical comments out there, but I just want to know why some of you even bother being fans with such a negative perspective on everything that is LSU football? Wouldn't it be easier and lead to a happier lifestyle to just jump ships and become Alabama fans? Or Ohio State fans? Hell just become bandwagon fans and jump ships every season if that makes you happy. Whatever happened to a healthy debate? The only debate that goes on around here lately is about misspelled words or grammatical errors.

Are you retarded? If our fans were as retarded as you then we would be ok with 5 or 6 losses a year. Maybe we want LSU to not suck as much as your ok with them sucking? IDK, why are you even a fan at all if you give zero f*cks how LSU does?

Add QB , about players leaving . A contract is a contract . I remember one LSU team where 3rd players hung around to be a Champion .

We are all LSU fans. It's just the 3 ring circus that is the coaching. Those of you that think Miles is the best; are like boyfriends that think that the bitch girlfriend you have is the only girl in the world and don't want to dump her.

We get it. You're a miles fan. Every time I wonder how a cult of personality like they had with joe pa at penn state can develop, I realize they had people like you there too.

We all want LSU to have the best in order to compete at the highest level. This appears to be a downgrade anyway to cut it. Auburn got Muschamp. A&M got Chavis. LSU got Steele? There is a reason he wasn't a DC, a darn good one! LSU shouldn't be the place for second chances. We all think LSU deserves better!

By no means have I always given CLM a pass in his flirtation with boneheaded coaching. I can scream about it with the best of them at times. I've still not gotten over 1/9 either. But until this hire came along and I've read some of the really hateful stuff being posted by some of us here, before this new coach has even had his chance with LSU, I had not fully recognized the cancerous damage unbridled negativity can have within a fan base. The unfairness of it boggles the mind and disappoints me. I am embarrassed for us all.
C'mon people - we are better than this!

You must not know any true bama fans if you think we are the worst. I only know 3 that aren't bandwagon and they are insufferable.

As for the Steele hire, it just seems that he was the only guy who didn't laugh at what was proposed to him. I can't wait to see the stipulations in his contract.

The long list of accredited, accomplished DCs that were supposed to be interviewing, and we get a washed up position coach.

I guess it could be worse. We could have landed Stoops.

you either are 1) not a huge fan or 2) do not pay a lot for season tickets, or 3) get tickets through work or your network or 4) have a ton of disposable income (or is rich), so your don't have much concern about how your LSU monies on TAF/coaches/etc are spent.

Is not hard to understand. Negativity is what allows them to divorce themselves from any sort of failure, but reap the feelings that come with success. Being pessimistic gives them a pass. Instead of saying "well this sucks," they get to act superior and say I told you so. When things work out though, they don't have to do a fricking thing but enjoy it.

So were Bama fans supposed to be happy with mike Shula? He had Bama in the top 10 1 yr before he was fired. 6 losses the next yr and he was gone. Or how about those miserable michigan fans? Or texas of fsu are a little more similar to lsu. Had a guy that was once very successful but he is on the decline in his career. Why ride miles all the way to the bottom? The direction of the program is clearly not the right way.

A lot of overreaction here. There are plenty more casual LSU fans out there. Many posters here on tRant are way more passionate than some. It's a message board

Oh for frick's sake. LSU just hired a guy who has NEVER been successful as a DC and was a position coach at the time of hire.

Elite or even semi-elite programs don't hire "project" hires for coordinators.

No pleasing us? How about there appears to be now way for you to pull your face out of Miles' lap?

I'm amazed Les is still able to get recruits to come to BR with this offense, it is literally the worst offensive scheme in college football

Don't blame the fans because of the failures of the head coach

I think healthy debate is great. I enjoy a good debate from time to time. (Not all the time, and not a sophistic-style debate, but a honest, healthy debate.) To me, the people who stifle healthy debate are the posters who consistently complain about the bad, negative "fans." They litter threads with their insults of these "fans" and lecture them about what kind of "fans" they should be.
