I think you may be onto something. Firing someone by email is a super shitty way to end things, since you owe them an actual explanation and at least 30 minutes to say where things went right and wrong. If his wife thought Adam was fricking her, then I can understand this less direct approach. Still means Adam married a spiteful bitch though.

Whatever. I've read what all he has said about it and he is coming off like a huge full of shite wuss. He sounds like he has insulated himself so much that he has lost perspective.

It sounds like he didnt have the balls to do it face to face. Says he fired his old manager face to face and it was super uncomfortable and didnt want to do it again.

So he got Maxipada to send her an email.

Unless the guy is a piece of shite who fricked up big time, then firing is supposed to be uncomfortable. You're likely letting go of a person you like and don't want to hurt them, but if they did some good work for you and tried their best, I think your employer owes it to you to do this face-to-face.

He spent almost an hour talking about why he fired her on the Anthony Cumia episode. In short, he thought she wasn't really pulling her weight when it came to coming up with bits, doing improv on the show, adding anything during live shows. He also sensed that she wasn't a huge fan of his, never read his books or watched his tv show, never invited him to anything outside of work, was reluctant to associate her podcast with his name or chip in on the patent troll fight.

She really didnt add much imo. Just kinda sat there, chimed in every once in a while with something not funny and read the news.

Basically reinforced adam's belief that women generally arent funny.

If this is all true, then bitch move by Ace. He talks about people being pussies so much, he needs to put his money where his mouth is with his own people. Yes, firing is uncomfortable, but he owed it to her to explain this face to face why he was firing her.

I've read plenty on Adam and Alison's sureddits, and the bullet points are this:

01/05/15 - Adam Carolla has the first podcast of the year, says Alison will not be apart of the show for 2015, wishes her well and says she would make a better lead than side kick. Gina Grad is hired as a temp news
girl
01/05 - 01/08 - various twitter updates by Alison imply that she was blind-sided by this, but seems upbeat about her situation. Fans start asking for a better answer
01/08 - Alison has her first ARIYNBF with the Thursday gang, goes into a bit more detail about the whole thing. Summary, while upset she's happy about the opportunity this presents for her own show (which she is now recording out of her house)
01/12 - Adam breaks his relative silence and goes on for about an hour on his podcast. He gives 10 reasons why she was fired, mainly because she doesn't have motor and did not back him or the Adam Carolla brand.

Since then Alison has not responded, just wished everyone well.

Adam fans are happy with the explanation, just not on how it was handled and don't seem crazy about the new girl.

Alison has picked up a ton of support, but keeping it is yet to be determined.

Listened to podcast where he explained situation. Sound like a lot of little things had been simmering and she was pretty lazy when it came to show prep/contributing.

Still an email firing is bush league.

FYI: Alison was a guest on a podcast called The Crabfeast that went up yesterday. She talked at length about it. Probably the place to go for anyone curious as to what went down. Honestly though, Alison seems pretty clueless about why she was cut loose.

Which is why Adam owed it to her to tell her specifically why she was getting canned. Adam didn't do it face to face because it was uncomfortable? Chances are if you've been working with someone for 4 years, canning them isn't going to be comfortable, unless they did something downright corrupt. As a person who calls people pussies for a living, Adam really pussed out on this.

I've never really listened to her podcast but went over to check it out.

She puts up two per week and the second one released on Thursdays is just a bunch of her friends bullshitting. Evidently most of them were staff at Carolla's studio.

They all showed up at her place last week and taped the episode but I guess Adam got wind of it this week and squashed it. So today she had all new people on there. She pretty much held her tongue but implied that they feared being fired if they continued to participate on her show.

Felt like an ego move to me. I'll still listen to both.

Also it should be mentioned that The Crabfeast is fricking hysterical. Top 3 podcast for me.
