I had no idea they released a song together until I saw this article, but I got a kick out of the tweets.

I watched this comedy the other day called Top Five. The funniest part was when someone listed Kanye as one of their top five rappers of all time.

To be fair I don't know of a lot of artists and actors that broke out 40+ years ago.
However, I'm more shocked that people are so willing to expose themselves as idiots on social media rather than just conducting a quick internet search.

24 years old. Grew up listening to the Beatles and while I respect what they did. Paul needs to hang it up. The dude sounds terrible in his old age.

Those quotes seem a little too in-your-face bad for me to take as non-trolls 
That said, I'm in the mid 20s demographic being discussed and I can't imagine that the cliff for not knowing who he is came right after me. Teenagers, no doubt, I'd think there's a good chance because their parents likely were too young to be primary Beatles fans.
Anyone whose parents were born pre 1975 I expect they know who he is.
All that said, there's no excuse for anyone not knowing about the Beatles even if they don't know his name specifically.
