Twitter from his high school coach.

Also Dandy Don

Caleb's 247. Zero stars, but was Florida class 2A player of the year.

Looks like offers were mostly smaller schools - Buffalo, FIU, Ohio...

Ohio under Solich is not a terrible program, so if we're getting a guy they offered to walk-on here, that's pretty good. More competition the better. And the better the practice players are, the more prepared the game players will be.

Yeah and it looks like he had some interest (but no offers) from USF and UCF, so some quality mid-majors were looking at him.

Watching his highlights:
32 on ACT
Shotgun QB
Likes to throw the ball down the field
Will need more zip and looks like strength which he will get from Moffitt

Congrats kid and best of luck!

Has LSU ever before had two left handed QB's report for spring practice at the same time? Lewis and McMillan are both southpaws.

Yes, Lewis has some ability--didn't see many, if any, slants or 10-20 yards over the middle type passes where the zip is needed.

But he throws a pretty good deep ball, does indeed like to throw the ball down field and is pretty mobile for a pro style QB.

Absolutely, and also FIU offered who is coached by Ron Turner...he has coached some pretty good QB's in his day as well.

Can he get merit academic scholarships and still walk on? That would be 15.5k a year.

I'll say it.

Looks like an under the radar steal, kid has good body control and and instincts. Able to elude as he looks down the field to find outlets. Needs to work arm strength and needs to put on about 20 lbs of muscle, but I can see him earning a full scholarship in time and possibly contributing if given a real opportunity.

I think that you could send somebody his hs reel and tell them it was tebow and very few would know the difference.

I would think that's what's really happening here. Semi-dependent on major too btw.

Yes that's what his dad (who is his h.s. coach) basically says in the newspaper article

"Because he has good grades, he can qualify for academic money..."
