I've thought about having my wife mention something to his gf - they've become friends. We don't know many people here.

I've never understood why a curse word is any worse than any other word. If I say son of a biscuit versus son of a bitch, which is worse and why? It's socially acceptable to say frick but not frick, crap but not shite, dang but not damn...it's utterly ridiculous. A word is a word is a word.

I opened this thread thinking he was trying to grope your kid or something.

But...

While you can't shield your kids from everything people say, there is a general expectation that a coach of six year olds will watch his language.

Coaches are often mentors/role model/father figures to kids growing up. There is nothing wrong with the OP expecting him to model good behavior.

Why does a coach need to sware at or around kids of that age?

Someone coaching kids at this age thinking they need to use that language needs a wake up call

Talk to the League head person and As a Dad I would have a chat with the coach

Holy frick... this is what's wrong with America. If you have a problem with it, tell it to him, to his face.

Or send him a tweet.

Here is the misunderstanding you have.

You assume that cursing is bad behavior

have your kid tell the coach to stop saying that in his presence. it appears chances are pretty good your son has bigger balls than you.

Unless you're just trolling now, just say something yourself. It shouldn't be an issue at all.

I went to Catholic schools my whole life.

I have heard priests, nuns, brothers, bishops, etc. curse some of them daily in class. Some using words like frick and the like.

The only people I have heard of that had a real problem with cursing are baptists and non-denominationals and mormons.

I'm not sensitive to this kind of stuff at all, but I could completely understand why you wouldn't want the coach dropping god damnits around a kid. Especially trying to raise the kid a certain way religiously.

Pretty sure the point sailed right over your head. The whole point isn't that adults are hearing/using cuss words..it's the fact that this coach is doing it around friggin 6 year olds. I cuss everyday and don't think twice about it, but I certainly would clean it up around a bunch of children. Especially if I'm looked up to by them as a coach/authority figure.

It looks like you aren't going to accept that it's not that big of a deal. So I'll help you out. Next time it happens

1. stand up
2. cup your hands into a megaphone
3. Yell "Don't use that FUKINg language around the chilren"
