Is there supposed to be a problem with the sign?

Seems like some pretty solid advice.

As for me, if there is hunting going on where I'll be walking...I won't be walking there.

Why would a hunter shoot at something without first identifying it?

Obviously a hunter shouldn't be doing that.

However, I still don't see an issue with the sign or the advice/caution on it.

Lord knows if there was no sign, everyone would be up in arms about not being warned.

Because they are fricking idiots...much like yourself. There are millions of hunters that hit the woods every year. Only a handful of these accidents occur. Although, accident is used loosely. If you do not properly ID target and know what is behind it, you are being reckless and neglectful. Oftentimes, the victim was not the target. Failure to know what is beyond your target area can lead to tragic incidents as well. Thousands upon thousands more people are killed walking in the inner cities than are killed walking in the woods. And it is illegal to discharge a weapon in city limits btw. Idiots in cars kill far more than hunting weapons do.

Not mention, it is common fricking sense not to walk through woods, especially public land, without hunters orange during gun season. We don't even do it on private land. If you choose to defy common sense to prove a liberal point, I encourage you to exercise your rights. Please wear a light brown sweat suit and leave a white hanky hanging out the back pocket. You can make your point best by doing this on crowded public hunting areas.

To the best of my remembrance, they don't do vision screenings when you get a hunting license. They also don't do personality profiling to see if you're an a-hole.

Now let's put those points aside and think about when most of the hunting is done: the early morning and late evening hours. These are times when the shifting shadows can make even the most experienced hunter question if he's seeing a buck in the distance or some dying palmetto waving in the wind.

Because sometimes dumbasses decide they want to try hunting and will o out to public land with no idea of what they are doing.

Who are these dumbasses, hmmmm.....
