LSU has become - like every other State-run, -funded, or controlled entity - primarily an employment and retirement vehicle for people unwilling or unable to compete in the free market.
The supposed function of the entity is merely a pawn to use to gain benefits for those who leach from it.
Those of us who get up every day and go fight the battle and fend for ourselves in the free market are superior to these leaches.

That is exactly right. Same statewide in all the schools.

The free market really does not support basic research. Where do you suppose these leeches should go to get funding and support for basic research?
