Obama has destroyed the Democratic party

What a terrible year for all these Democrats to come up for election. This is what you get when you follow the lead of a President who has divided this country in a very very bad way. I wish all you Democrat scumbags who voted with this President many more defeats in the future. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

They needed destruction. Tonight was icing on the cake. If only Maness would've vacated the November election, Mary's arse would have been wiped at that time.

Bush did the same for R's in 2008. It's all cyclical and they are all the same self-interested liars.

As long as the 47% are still getting their checks there will always be a democrat party.

He sure has contributed to this:
"Poll: Party ID shift post-midterms

More Americans are identifying with the Republican Party after the midterm elections and fewer with the Democrats, according to a new poll.

I'd say "destroyed" is a pretty strong word.
The brand name has definitely sustained some damage. For how long depends on how long the GOP can avoid fricking things up. My guess would be thru the 2016 election cycle, but not much longer.

It's refreshing to see that the Folks will right the ship when corrupt politicians take over. This is why this nation has lasted as long as it has.
I just hope the republicans don't frick it all up like they did during the Bush administration.
Murika!

Grow up and stop scolding the democrats as if you care about their success

Same was said after Clintons mid terms.
People wanting more free stuff are voting more democrat.
Writing is on the wall.

Not so much "destroyed" as "redefined." He was pretty clear in setting his agenda during both elections and the majority voted for him. The Southern Democrats were already well on their way to leaving the Democratc party before Obama. Elections have consequences so lets see what the Republicans can do. Unfortunately, I do not see any hope for more effective Congessional leadership and fully expect the Democrats to at least keep the presidency in 2 years.

Obama has EXPOSED the Democratic Party; I.e., the ludicrous, impractical, divisive, and dangerous consequences that implementing said policy begets.
But far worse than simply, temporarily removing Dems (their Collectivist economic ideology) from political power...he has imbued that Movement with the same Constitutional hostility and grievance-based sentiment for Individual Freedom that has always been the core of his own soul. The kind of 'unity' that he imagines...is the Authoritarian version, much like his "Muslim brethren".
Live and learn.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
I'm 47. Old enough to see both parties "destroyed" 3 or 4 times.

Bill clinton's first two years in office severely damaged the DNC brand but he shifted to the middle and rebounded well. Conversely, Obama seems hellbent on defying the the most recent elections and is moving more to the left. The question is, is there anyone in the party who can stop the leftward drift.

I wouldn't get so excited. Dems are still gonna take the White House in 2016.
Posted on 12/7/14 at 10:27 am to tigerbait3488
Nah, just a couple of years ago Democrats were crowing that the Republican party was dead. It's just cyclical.
