Does the example of La'el encourage more to stay this year?

will we retain more key personnel (finally)?

i asked the question thinking primarily of Danielle Hunter, then realized there are quite a few more that are eligible.

Edit prompted by MajorTiger: does the example of Freak help from the other direction?

do those that AREN'T as good as OBJ and Jarvis realize it and stick around for development?

it definitely helps that La'el made some serious cash with an extra year

I hope so. But it is one of those things that you can never predict.

Collins made a lot more money staying a year at LSU

Leinart lost a lot of money staying a year at USC (He was gonna be the #1 pick after his JR year)

With injuries to factor in, I will never be mad at anyone who makes the jump to the NFL.

Doubtful. Frankly fans need to just expect anyone eligible to leave to go. Much less disappointing that way.

It may help with some. Also watching some guys like Freak Johnson go undrafted might encourage some guys to stay.

On the other hand, I'm sure some are watching Beckham, Hill, and Landry making huge impacts in the NFL as rookies.

The 3 and out is going to be norm moving forward. Most kids want to be a 3 and out, 1st rounder. Similar to BBall, they want to be a 1 and out.

Do u go and get paid vs sweating down here in the minor leagues for free risking injury and a stock drop or increase in value? If staying should increase your paycheck considerably, u should at least consider staying, under most circumstances. Its kinda like going to college or entering the workforce, decision time.

Hasnt worked out for some to leave early and it hasnt worked out for some that stayed.

Collins is a great example of a kid that played his cards correctly, it seems. Others would be foolish not to take notice of his example.

I hope so. Alexander should stay seeing as though he encouraged Collins to stay for his senior year.
