The media has spun the situation as white officer Wilson shot and killed an 18 year old black teenager.
In fact, by the government's standards, Officer Wilson defended himself against an 18 year old 6'4" 300 pound man which resulted in the man's death.
In this context, the term "teenager" is bullshite.
The "narrative" at work, folks.

The media does the same when some cute teacher sits on a 16 or 17 yr olds face. At 16, I had a job and a car, and if I shot someone I'd be tried as an adult

if you are in your teens you are a teenager.
a young man can be, but is not necessarily, a teenager.
its more informative to call him a teenager than it is a young man.
