Nope. It's a very basic and effective means of dividing, and falls perfectly in line with conflict theory as outlined by Karl Marx. It is a go-to subject in the world of political propaganda, and it has been used very differently in propaganda many times. The best work on race as it relates to politics is Intellectuals and Race by Thomas Sowell.

The only way to end racial divide is to stop dividing according to race. If those who really wanted racial equality would settle for equal treatment of all instead of always requiring some special treatment then in another generation or so the problem would have been minuscule. The present leadership of the "civil rights" crowd, the attorney general, and the president have set race relations back 40 years.

As long as a substantial number of one race can HONESTLY utter the sentence "he was a good boy" about an obvious criminal with a straight face and as long as a majority of that race think that somehow, a cop isn't supposed to shoot you if you're whipping his arse as long as you're "unarmed", I don't see it ending.

Hell, even in the Zimmerman case I had otherwise intelligent black people tell me that even if Trayvon was beating the shite out of GZ, "you can't just shoot someone who is beating your arse".

It's a fundamental cultural divide. Hell. Let's not lie. There is a healthy number in the black community that views stealing from "rich business owners" to be basically OK.

It won't go away. People are ignorant and see what they want to see and pay attention to the smaller picture. Police officers don't like taking lives. They do it because they have to in some situations and they most definitely don't boast about it. There is no winner, Justice was served but no one is truly exonerated, as the officer who shot michael brown still will live with that label for the rest of his life and has to deal with the moral guilt that goes with taking a life (regardless if the action was justified).
