Flip a coin. I like the Classic, though.

Nice but they really haven't started marketing the passport in the US yet

BlackBerry lifer right here. I have the Z10. Love it. Didn't the Q10 still have the keyboard? What's the deal with the Classic?
Posted on 11/26/14 at 7:30 am to Smalls
Yes the Q10 still has the keyboard but it does not have the "toolbelt". The classic will bring back the touchpad, hang up, answer, and function buttons. It's an attempt to get the die hard 9900 users to update to BB10.

I like the buttons. All this phone app crap. Biggest pain is when I want to hang up I have to go through 2-3 steps. I like just having an end button. Hit that red button and call is done. Can do it without even looking.

Just announced that AT&T and Verizon will carry it. I thought for sure they'd have it ready for Christmas, but it sounds like they are waiting for early 2015

Wait... Blackberry is still in business? Wasn't expecting that.

Getting back to what made them good....physical QWERTY keyboards. I still prefer them to touchscreen phones, but they haven't had anything worth a damn since the 98whatever 5 years ago

You must use phones like an idiot?
I've used more phones than you'll ever own, and all of them are one press away from hanging up.

Nope. They are getting screwed by carriers. Carriers are so in deep with Apple and have to meet their quotas that they are pushing the BB's past Christmas. I'm thinking of just buying the Passport unlocked off of Amazon. If I don't like it, I can always resell it and the Classic will be $50 at ATT.
And yes, BB is still in business. $3.2 billion in cash, debt free, and last quarter showed a positive cash flow. Had a non-GAAP profit of one penny per share although revenue was down.

I was a major fan of BB...but, my last one was a huge piece of shite. Not sure I would ever go back.
I am with you on this one. I had the last Blackberry Bold on Verizon and it would randomly start downloading nothing until the battery died a couple hours later unless I did a battery pull. I also had a pre-order Playbook and it was amazing except for having to use Bridge to access it's main functions. When I went away from the Bold to iPhone, it pretty much bricked the Playbook which was a great piece of hardware and the OS was actually very easy to use and nice to look at.

One of the biggest wastes of hardware ever- the playbook.

screen too small…I'll never go back to a small screen after having a Note 3
This. Note 3 screen size is great. Only problem is people who want to start conversations regarding how it looks like their iPad Mini.

I don't mind smaller screens, tbh.

Just picked up the Verizon classic. Pretty responsive, snappy, and perfect size. Not too much bigger than the Bold (which was a concern).
Handed it over to my mom, so no pics. The Verizon store in Kenner was the only one around that had them. They only have one left now

BlackBerry just announced two new devices, the BlackBerry Leap and the BlackBerry Slider (not official name).
LINK
The BlackBerry Leap:
The Leap features a 5-inch, 1,280x720-pixel HD touch display with 293 pixels per inch, an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, 16GB of storage and 25 hours of battery life. The Leap marks a departure from last year's line-up, which was totally dependent on BlackBerry's trademark physical keyboard. The company plans the smartphone to go on sale in April in Europe for $275 (roughly £180 or AU$350).

Slider looks cool. I think Leap is just an entry level priced phone.

Love the Slider. BlackBerry has some of the best ideas. I just wish it would catch on.
