New Smartphone

I currently have an S3 and am with Verizon. Due an upgrade.
I really liked the Android. Only knocks:
-Battery life. Age-related? Maybe due to all the apps that are built into the phone?
-GPS seems to have become very inaccurate. Could be due to age...
Any recommendations?
*Are there good smartphones with built-in SD card readers?

LG G3
HTC One M8
Moto X (2014)
Nexus 6
Droid Turbo
If you don't need the latest and greatest:
LG G2
Moto X (2013)
Battery life has improved dramatically over time for Android phones.
the one's listed above have non-removable memory

Grab the Moto X 2014.
Nexus 6 isn't coming to Verizon until after the year now most likely, typical Verizon fricking around with Google again.

Note4 is an amazing phone. I am in love with mine.

I love my note 4. If you want a little smaller phone get the droid turbo. It has the biggest battery for any phone in the market.

Moto X 2014 is awesome. It really is the newer version of the Nexus 5. Battery life and camera are slightly better, and the screen is slightly bigger than the N5. It is already being tested with the latest software (lollipop) before nexus devices.
The battery is not as good as the G3 or S5, but more than adequate for normal users. Early testers with Lollipop have better battery life than with Kitkat too.

Lol, no. Nexus 6 has had it since birth and in reviewers hands for weeks.

Umm, yes. See the Nexus 4 and 7 (both versions). Nexus 5 will get lollipop fast though. The Moto X last year got Kitkat before a couple nexus devices and Moto seems to be updating to lollipop even faster.
Regardless, the OP doesnt seem to care about stock android as much as we do.

Just realized the Sony Xperia Z3 is on Verizon. Get that!

I think the Droid Turbo would be a good choice for you. Motorola is serious about quickly updating their phones, plus it's going to give you great battery life at that price point.
