Not sure of what your search radius is, but unless it was a exclusive or special model, a Ford F-250 with a 6.0 liter engine can be found. All depends on how far you are willing to go in your search.

I know that. I meant your original post was a troll since you don't work at or own the business in question.

I wanted an F250 without 6.0. Searched for several months and never found one in my price range except for the 6.0. Finally found an 08 with the 6.4 so I bought it. I love the truck. Just wish I had my plates.

I bought a used truck from a dealer in Missouri and they did the exact same thing to me. The kept giving excuse after excuse and I gave them some negative online feedback about how bad the experience was. That got their attention and they finally came clean and said they lost the title to the truck and would have to have another made.

That's the thing, I have the title. I think they are just lazy and/or disorganized.

Something similar happened to me with a used car dealer in California. When I went to get my Louisiana plates the DMV would not accept the Cali paperwork. After many calls to the dealer and no resolution, I called the San Diego BBB and filed a complaint. After that the dealer was falling all over himself to resolve the paperwork problems.

Yes but you don't even have to deal with the DMV anymore to get plates or tags. You can go to private owned title places now and be out in 10 minutes. It might cost you $20 extra but it is well worth it. Knowing that, you can't tell me that there is any excuse for this.

He paid them the sales tax... lot more than $20 on a $17000 purchase. Not getting tags without proof of that.

I have a bill of sale which says how much I paid in TTL. You're saying I can take that to the DMV and get plates? Seems like the one who received that money would have to do that.

If you paid the taxes, go get a tag for it. It shows on the bill of sale. You had 20 days to get it yourself, unless Louisiana is different that everywhere else.

How will the DMV know if the dealer even applied that money to taxes?

That's the dealer's issue. I'm sure it's paid. Hopefully you won't get assessed a large penalty for not registering it sooner.

Well at that point, I would sue the dealership. Im just trying to save myself the time of a wasted trip to the DMV but I will try it I guess.
