Was it a low turnout by Dim/ignorant voters? For such a large sweep, it has to be a repudiation of Obama.

It is significantly harder to herd minority voters to the polls when a black man is not on the ticket.
Want proof of that assertion?
Democrats spent hundreds of thousands of dollars last year registering 300,000 blacks in georgia to vote. David Perdue STILL trashed Nunn, and exit polls show that these blacks did not vote.

Obama's approval rating is probably being propped up by people that didn't even vote in this election. That's about the only answer I can give.

So you're going with poor turnout by the ignorant masses?

Well, we are all ignorant. Just depends which side you listen to, apparently.

Extremely low turnout in key dem areas + more dem seats open for replacement + Obama base not energized to help + no Major GOP candidate screwups + a typical midterm election GOP turnout advantage + additional voters pissed at Obama = 2014 Rep win.
Don't expect the exact same formula for 2016. Reps still have work to do.

Same cycle repeats. You don't know shite when you smell it 'Bro.'

Reps finally seem to have a game plan to be contenders. A lot of hard work went into these candidates and it paid off. Now they just have to work hard to get some things done, let Obama be the obstructionist/EO dictator and continue with their candidate revamp. They will have a chance.

quote:Nah. A very large portion of the black community in this country is being systematically turned into voters of symbolism. A niche voting base, used primarily for the presidential elections which saw the extent of their convenience to the Democratic party used in 2008 and 2012. It's fricked up, and I bug my black friends about it every chance I get.

MSNBC was pushing that black/brown/latino vote very hard. That shite didn't fly, and it's pretty ignorant to push it that way.

I bet you 80% of them cannot name the VP. Yet they elect our president. Sad. Very sad.

It is a sad part, and I actually thought when Obama was elected, that we might actually be able to unite, and heal relations. It has been the opposite, though, and publicicized, that ya, that wasn't the intention.

quote:I agree with you. Although I was very disappointed when he was first elected, because I knew he was a radical and totally unqualified to be president. I hoped he could be an inspiration to blacks and they would realize that white people want them to succeed and give up the victim mentality. Boy was I wrong. He doubled down on it and I've never seen race relations worse in my 46 years of life.

Are you 5? The Democrats lost 62 House seats and 7 Senate seats in 2010. This is nothing. And Obama was reelected 2 years later.
