4/42 isn't bad for Burks. It's what Holiday got in his extension and more than DeRozan got in his. Both moves were widely panned, now seen as good contracts. Through year's, he has put up similar, if not better numbers than either guy.
I remember the Derozan contract getting panned. I don't remember much complaining about Holiday's though.

They will be playoff dark horses next year and maybe better after that. They really need Exum or Burke to emerge as a star.
This is what i'm not buying with them. They're doing something similar to what we did, locking up young vets, except they don't have an Anthony Davis on the roster. That's a disaster in waiting. I'm skeptical about Exum

Yeah. I agree on the lacking a star part. They blew it by letting Jefferson and Milsap walk for nothing and by keeping Corbin around so long.

I'm intrigued by Exum, but he will need time.

Here's a good read on the Burks extension

The point about getting FA to Utah is spot on. I'm not sure how they ever get that star player without drafting him.

Their best play is to hope for a Memphis type seasoning and then blossoming. Maybe swing a trade for a damaged goods guy like ZBo was and have a guy mature like Conley and surppass expectations like Gasol
