I'm told by an insider the band was instructed by LSU to shut it down.

Think it's stupid and silly, but I guess it is what it is.

Clearly, lsu officials did not want the band to play while the students were on the field. That would have kept them out there longer.

I noticed them waiting to play. After I gave up on the alma mater they played Hey Baby.

Would you seriously need an insider to tell you that?

There are actual safety concerns that go along with people rushing the field. It may be hard for the children to comprehend, but the no-rushing rule isn't just grown-ups trying to be meanies. For one thing, once the field is rushed, there is little to prevent this from happening: LINK

Now that we've rushed the field for Ole Miss - what does that leave us left to do if we beat Bama - except tear down the fricking goal posts?

I made my way over by the band after the game. I asked a guy that was with the band (not a band member) when they were going to play the alma mater, and he told me they weren't playing it that they were trying to get everyone to leave the stadium. So I told him everyone is waiting for them to play it then they will leave. He said they aren't playing it, so I stood around a little longer. After about 10 minutes or so , the band decided to sing it. After they finished singing, everyone standing around me left, and so did I.

I heard the same thing. What a crock. This was the most exciting game in Tiger Stadium since the 2007 season. Let the fans enjoy it and celebrate a little. Instead, Borne gets on the PA system sounding like a jackass. I'm glad that the fans took their time leaving the field.
