I started to make a joke when the girl asked me for my ID, but I figured that wasn't appropriate.

Of all the things you have to show ID for, voting makes a ton of practical sense.

Was this early voting? If so why are you a terrible person?

I had to show mine as well. I just don't get why this is such a big deal. Most people drive to vote so they bring their licence to vote. Every person who can vote is old enough to drive and can because they are citizens.

So wait, you mean you had to prove that you were indeed the person on the voter roll for whom you were pulling the lever?

That is fricking terrible

Hell, I don't even think there should be voter rolls, you should just be able to go in and pull the lever without providing any info

One time back when I was in my 40s I was asked for my ID in a liquor store. I've never received such a wonderful compliment in my life.

You bet. No upstanding citizen, or non-citizen, would want to taint the best political system in the world.

Early voting today is hated because black people vote early.

Therefore there are efforts in red run states to curtail early voting.

This board will regularly argue that they want voting to be hard.

This thread is again filled with dupes who believe what politicians tell them about why politicians do things.

like ohio? didn't they "curtail" the early vote by making it 21 days instead of 28?

showing ID within a reasonable time of election day is not "hard"

i don't think people in this thread mocking lib-progs making an issue out of common sense voting regulation are doing this at all

of course they don't want irresponsible people to vote. i doubt they deny this

then why not just do it online with a click of the mouse?

we can put Chicken in charge of the voting website and use the upvote/downvote feature.

People in this thread actually believe the voter id work is being done to prevent fraud. It isn't. It is done to lower voting by the other side.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a dupe.

Jesus christ you're ignorant.

How many instances of voter fraud do you need to open your eyes?

shite the lady who was caught in Ohio was cheered by a room full of blacks recently.

I mean they fricking openly cheat and cheer about it.
