Dear friends in Louisiana (my only political post to you),
Please read this from your conservative newspaper and please vote for the Democrat they endorse: Senator Mary Landrieu. I'm counting on you. I tried to keep my voter registration in Louisiana for this election, but y'all don't let newbies vote absentee. Go take care of business.
"The Republican opposition is trying to make this a partisan race and falsely paint Sen. Landrieu as a liberal Democrat. She isn't.
She occupies the middle ground in Congress. She has been an advocate for free trade and a strong military. She pushed the Obama administration to lift its drilling moratorium after the BP spill and is an advocate for the oil and gas industry, which is a mainstay of Louisiana's economy.
It is to her credit that both oil and gas executives and some environmental groups praised her choice as Energy Committee chairwoman. That reflects the balance between her commitment to expanding U.S. energy production and restoring Louisiana's damaged coastline."

So the Times-Picayune endorsed Mary today.

I am shocked.

This made her argument invalid to me.

It's not nationwide. Most LA Democrats love O&G.

You don't vote for Obama's policies 97% of the time and keep the "middle of the road" label.

If the liberal shoe fits, wear it.

That is surprising.

NO newspaper endorses NO based Senator that is the sister of current NO Mayor and part of NO political family dynasty.

Knock me over with a feather...

Is the poster from Cuba or North Korea? To call the Times Picayune conservative.

In Kentucky, Grimes has made being pro-coal the cornerstone of her campaign even going so far as to say McConnell is somehow anti-coal. She is losing now because everybody knows it's bullshite!

I mean at least Landrieu can back up her pro-O&G stance with a halfway decent history of voting for it. It really is farciacal the lies politicians spew.

She's the 8th most moderate Senator in the entire Senate.

People calling her a liberal are morons.

Compared to what?

I'm sure there are "moderates" in North Korea's power structure too.

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D)
Louisiana

Rank

44th Most Liberal
56th Most Conservative

Composite Score

58.3 Liberal
41.7 Conservative

you have to "search the senate" in the box on the left hand side.

She actually may be the 4th or 5th most moderate out of the 100 senators - it just depends on the year.

I agree that she is a moderate, and she does strongly support the oil and gas industry. It would be political suicide for her not to.

Has the board so quickly forgotten the "McCain voted with Bush 91% of the time" tactic? It's smoke and mirrors and it's not surprising that the republican candidates use it. They're hacks. This election displeases me.
