Hate that for you.
Interesting to note that at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama, the top 10 executives have seen salary increases of over 50% over the past 2-3 years.
So it is fair to blame ACA for some of these rate increases, but look into what your insurance company is paying its executives. Some are using ACA to justify huge salary increases.

Can you do the math for me and tell me how much insurance rates would go down to everyone on a BCBS of Alabama plan if those execs completely eliminated their pay rates? Not just reduced them to the previous levels, but completely eliminated.
I have a feeling the point you're trying to make really isn't a very valid point.

And there you have it. This is the reason we will never go to single payer like the left thinks we will. The insurance companies are running the show. The politicians are in their back pockets. No way this relationship is killed by single payer. There is way, way too much money on the table for the politicians and insurance companies. They just won't give it up, ever.

So can you add up the costs of the salaries for all these top executives and tell me what % of the expenditures of BC/BS that is?

ETA: I'm seeing it's only around 400,000 enrolled. Meaning it's about $10/yr, or <$1/mo.
ETA2: BCBSAL has almost 90% market share of all insured people in AL And it's increased over the time period of the "egregious" compensation pay increases. If a CEO is delivering 90% If a market... he's getting a raise!

So, you are saying these large increases in premiums are due to executive pay?
Please show your math.

Can't you see the insurance companies were in bed with Obama and Pelosi and Landrieu to pass this stupid law?
It is simply special interest and politicians enriching themselves at our expense.
Too bad that are actually naive idiots that believe ACA was about helping the common citizens.
Big government is corrupt. It doesn't matter if the President is Bush or Obama. The corruption is there inherently.
Mary is going to get some big salary in the oil and gas or health insurance business as a lobbyist or something for her support as a Senator of their special interest.
How evil are these politicians that they inflict such crap on us in exchange for a few million on the backside?
I suppose Ms. Landrieu sleeps perfectly fine even though she knows she kicked those of us that provide for our own insurance right in the gut.
My policy is up over $5000 a year since ACA passed in 2008. That is for me and my family of 4.
Why did Ms. Landrieu want to do that to me???
