What, are you saying we're unrefined? We're uncultured? Is that it? You think we can't be knowledgeable on this subject matter, because Italy is the foundation of western culture? Because wine is the beverage of the sophisticated? Well you're right. I don't know shite about this. I will defer to another.

I don't remember the name but when I was in Florence we did a wine tour out into the Tuscan countryside. It included a visit to two vineyards (one Chianti and one Chianti Classico) and a meal in Panzano at the famed "crazy butcher's" restaurant. It was a pretty awesome, the restaurant was fantastic. I believe it was through "Tuscan Wine Tours". Don't remember the price either.

Definitely do the Boone's Farm tasting if you can.

Our travel agent recommended viator.com for these tours. We did a couple from Florence, they were outstanding. Highly recommend both, the Cinque Terre day was beyond incredible:

1) Wine Tour
2) Cinque Terre

Please bring me some Vermentino. Thanks!

ETA: We also used Viator for our Vatican tour, Rome tour, and tour of the museums in Florence. Awesome company--they have great tour guides.

Enjoy your trip but do yourself a favor, as much as you enjoyed the wine, do not buy any to ship home. When you realize how much you spent to ship it, your belly will burn so hot that not even the finest super tuscan will douse it.
