I'm just getting a thought off my chest here. I don't want to be all "SEC hates LSU" or "ESPN hates LSU" here. I'm just stating something I'm feeling as an LSU fan. This isn't even whining. Honest. I just want to see if I'm the only idiot who feels this way.

TLDR version: The SEC Network makes me feel like I have less in common, not more in common with the rest of the SEC.

I don't really feel as drawn to watch the SEC Network as I feel I should. I mean, we finally have our own network, right? Whoo hoo! Yeah... not so much. See, after watching it for a few weeks, I feel less enthusiastic about it than I did about the idea of it.

We all know LSU is kind of a different place. I mean, we do everything a little different here in Louisiana. We have our own culture and it's different from our neighbors in a lot of ways. Everything from our legal system to the food we eat, to the accents we have, and the offense we run on the football field. It's not the same as the others.

But the SEC Network seems to be hitting the common culture of our neighbors right on the money. Is Mississippi really all that different from Alabama or Georgia or Tennessee, for instance? If I watch SEC Nation, LSU is 1/14 of it, no more than anyone else, but I have to sit through 13/14 of the rest of the conference all the time. And it seems the more I'm exposed to our SEC brothers, the more differences I see between us and the more contempt I have for them.

Combine that with the traditional feelings of the LSU fanbase regarding scheduling, officiating, Alabama-centrism, etc... and I'm just not all on fire about the SEC anymore. In fact, I'm kinda sick of their shite. I'm tired of hearing about the Grind, Tdecline, Saban, frickin' A&M, HUNH offenses, UGA, Sandstorm, Malzahn screaming at officials to hurry up, and Fatass Bert, and everyone telling us how much we suck all the time. EVEN WHEN WE DON'T SUCK.

Now I fully realize this is only MY perception. There is no problem here. LSU is a charter member of the SEC and our place in it is rightly assured, and we benefit greatly from the network and status of the conference.

I'm just getting tired of the SEC lovefest in our shared culture. I'm going back to LSU lovefest in my head. frick the rest of the SEC.

LSU gets no love from the sec network which is why I tend to stay away from it. If we beat auburn that changes so I don't think it has to do with being LSU just the fact that we haven't won an sec game yet

Good grief, dude. This is a whole lot of whining.

Beat them and make them fear you. If LSU returns to mediocrity, this conference has ALWAYS been Alabama and Georgia centric - which means that the core of the conference is Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Georgia. Everyone else is on the margins. Texas A&M is new and the flavor of the month, but if they were average we would not hear much from them. To get into the SEC Media's mind, you have to beat those 4 teams and be better than everyone else. It is a Birmingham-Atlanta based league.

Get over it and just be LSU and win.

No because I'm not a pussy.

By the way you and your bama/SEC/everyone hates LSU complex are exactly what's wrong with some of our fans.

What an embarrassment

Many, not all of you points, are well received. I do feel the same about the SEC network. I feel a lot of my disappointment in the network is related to that abomination of a 'talk show' every afternoon. Fortunately, I work for a living and only catch it occasionally. Such a waste of air time that could, and should be used, better than that for the sake of the entire conference not just select group.

I honestly don't give 2 fricks about Mizzou, or Carolina, or hell even Kentucky and Vandy. It barely feels like we're even in the same conference as them. A byproduct of expansion; it's impossible to feel a true "rivalry" with that many teams.

I haven't watched it other than a couple of games...sportsmouths get paid to ramble about all types of BS, SECN is no different, and it is run by espn...so if you were into the espn hates LSU conspiracy theory before, well it just got a lot bigger...

Don't like it, change the freakin channel...I don't have to listen to some ex-jock gush about anybody, much less all the other SEC teams I don't like...my perception and knowledge of LSU football doesn't come from listening to all these "experts"...
