That may be the greatest .gif about the master race I have ever seen.

I've gotten 3 of the 4 warchiefs. I spent most of my time doing sidequests and just killing captains so far.The warchiefs are actually quite a bit easier to kill than the captains I feel like because the enviroments are full of wasp/wolf/fire pits to use

There are lots of neat little lore bits in there. I never read the Simarillion but I know a lot about it and there are plenty of little nods in there. I don't think the plot is nitpick free from the lore elitists and at times I can be, but I actually really like the story and plot so far.

I do wish weapon management would be a little bit more involved. I could swear I saw something about fire arrows and never saw it again and you are stuck with the same weapons but the trials change the weapons but they don't. I am not paying enough attention to it obviously, but it could be better.

I passed out last night so I'll have to start tonight.

I don't think you can make a video game nit pick free based on books.

How do I know if the game is utilizing SLI? In game On advanced video settings it shows one card and that I have 2gb of VRAM. Is there a way to check bc it seems I should be getting better performance

Sli doesn't give you more ram. If you have 2 2gb cards, you don't have 4gb , you still have 2gb. Pop in the pc thread and ask.

Does that come with the special editions? I'm not big on paying more for bonus content.

I got about 3 hours in last night and I'm pretty happy so far.

I would agree with the other poster that the movement is similar to AC and the combat similar to Arkham, but I just enjoy the LOTR stories, lore, and environment much more than anything in Assassins Creed.

So far, I haven't had an orc kill me, but that damn lion creature beat the shite out of me 3-4 times while I was searching for Golem. Running away is also an absolute neccessity, at least this early. The orc swarms get huge if you mess around and don't kill them quickly.

The nemesis system hasn't really kicked in for me so far. I had one orc captain, whom I apparently forgot to behead, come back and corner me while in the middle of a fight with another captain. But I like the orc hierarchy concept and the tribal fighting they do in real time.

So far, so good!

How is it setup? Is it just randomly placed groups if enemies, or does it feel like a living world?

What platform?

Does it matter? It's a prime choice for $30-40 on PS4/XB1 come Black Friday.

I would not consider it a living world in the same manner as GTA or an actual RPG. The orc patrols are randomized each time you die, but their population is so dense across the map that it's really hard to tell. You are hardly ever at a location where an orc or patrol is not within bow & arrow range. If you took a slow stroll across the map, you would never make it b/c you would be fighting the whole time. Rooftops, bushes, and sprinting are the only way to really avoid conflict.

Now the captain strongholds actually do seem alive. Lots of orcs doing alot of different activities. Fighting, slaving, eating by the fire, training beasts, executing slaves, and forming groups to attack other nearby orc captains. And if you're seen in a stronghold, all hell is breaking loose, and you better be running away (at least this early in the game).

The thing that sticks out to me most is the enemy density. They are EVERYWHERE! It's hard to "stay on task", so to speak.

I'm not as familiar with black friday sales which is why I asked. I have a pretty good feel for steam sales at this point though.
