When these hypocrites sell their big arse homes, boats, cars, and planes maybe I'll listen.
The minute Al Gore and friends decide that travel, even for them,is just too damaging then maybe I'll listen.

Until then these people can stfu about how much water, energy, paper, etc.that "little people" like me use.

Surely you can see he is a hypocrite for having an enormous carbon footprint while asking international leaders to enact changes to lessen others' carbon footprint. Surely.

What these wealthy warriors want is industry to be held accountable, not individuals. Same old anti business leftist bullshite.

Narrow down a long story, one of my college profs told me of a run in he had with a big wig in the Sierra Club. After he mentioned the fact that the fella had a huge 5,000 sq. ft house made of redwood, flew everywhere, owned a gas guzzling vehicle and had 5 children, the Sierra club guy told him that his work offset his footprint. So, I guess it's ok to go against what you preach if you believe your work or giving offsets your lifestyle.

He's an actor, he can believe the sky is green for all I care. His job is to entertain, why people GAF what these people's views are confuses me.

I think the criticism should lie mostly with the UN. We are all hypocrites to some degree. In addition, we are all undereducated enough on most issues to not warrant an opportunity to be treated as an expert to present an argument, especially on a worldwide platform, one way or the other on those issues. That being said, if the UN wanted my non-expert opinion on some issue, it would be difficult for me to say no because of the opportunity to present on such a platform. The UN should know that it would be hard to turn them down, and should only invite people with the requisite knowledge on a topic. They chose to make it about pop culture rather than science, but it's hard to blame Leo.

I am a huge fan of Leo though, so my opinion is hardly unbiased.

For the LL's being there and being seen there is of paramount importance.
This entire movement is a farce. The so called experts jet all over the world to exotic locations for these conferences where they preach to each other about the fragility of the environment. The carbon footprint (if you accept this as a valid concept) is huge when you consider the air travel, electricity used at the venue, food waste, then increase on hookers' fees at the time of the event.
Of course they are hypocrites.
And most of the know it but why pass up a good time?

Leo knows global warming and climate change. He has been a part of the movement for decades and I know he purchases carbon offsets so it's all good.

A group of international leaders who will then go back and try to enact laws demanding that we use less water in the shower. Surely you can understand that. Surely.

Yeah, as usual, DS was way off base when he tried to dismiss DiCaprio's hypocrisy by saying that it's not aimed towards asking individuals to make personal sacrifices. What does he think that LD expects these global leaders to do? Wave a magic wand and supernaturally resolve the problem?

For those who truly believe this is one of the most important issues of our time, of course it's about personal sacrifice. Hence, the utter hypocrisy of these "do as I say, not as I do" phonies.

If DiCaprio truly believed in the importance of this issue, he could buy a ticket and park his arse on a commercial flight like everybody else.

The only silver lining to communist world domination will be seeing all of the former "elite" entertainment celebrities who didn't make the cut.

He's living the dream. So many of you would love to live the life he leads so STFU.
