2014 is 1998 all over again

Saturday's game against Mississippi State reminded me of the 1998 game in Tiger Stadium against Georgia. Georgia won 28-27, but the game never felt that close. LSU's defense could never stop Georgia when it needed to, and the offense looked one-dimensional.
LSU finished 2-6 in the SEC in 1998.
Unless LSU significantly improves the play of the defensive line, line backers, offensive line and quarter back, LSU is likely to finish their SEC schedule with 2 wins in 2014.

2 conference wins is being optimistic

We'll most likely be finishing the season 3-7 honestly

Which two games do we just not play?

My thoughts exactly.
It has been a fantastic 14 year run, but like all good things, it must come to an end.
I honestly believe we are at that real 'tipping-point' that we haven't experienced since the 1997-1998 seasons.
There is a sense of something big about to unravel on this Tiger team. The Tigers may win because they are the stronger team, but the QB controversy is just a symptom of real problems that have yet to reach a crescendo.

WHAT??????????????
pump the brakes dude geezus.
look there are TONS of issues plenty have with miles that have cost us dearly and are legit but i DO NOT...again I DO NOT see us having a losing record even under les. yes, les has underachieved in relation to what he has here but we are not going back to those years .
we didn't have the facilities then or money then we have now. and yes LES is miles better than RETARDO. That's a no brainer.
just like the scare tactics about we will be back to the 90's when les is done is BS as well.
I do not think we do any worse than 7-5 this regular season. I'd be shocked if we lose 6 games.

No. I think it's more like 2008.
I don't feel quite as doom and gloom as watching Quincy Carter carve us up for 3 straight TD drives. We were completely lost. This team is not lost. They were just outmanned by a more experienced team on Saturday.

So you're saying we'll lose to New Mexico State this week

I think he means the remaining of the season because that wouldn't even be enough games
And that wouldn't make sense either. I'm lost

les and dinardo are very comparable coaches. the biggest difference between dinardo & les is that les fired his d-coordinators before things spiralled out of control, while dinardo was too stubborn and kept tepper.

Unless the DL and MLB dramatically increase their level of play I believe we will go 0-6 in the SEC West this year.
A&M, Alabama, and Auburn will destroy us with their offenses. 500+ yards a game easy. That makes 0-4, leaving Ole Miss and Arkansas.
Ole Miss is playing fundamentally better than us right now. Hopefully, that will change. Arkansas has a very good and experienced OL to go along with two outstanding RBs that may rush for 1000 yards each this year. They will kick our DL's collective arse.
That makes 0-6, last in the SEC West.
Unless we wake up defensively.

All the other SEC schools have it as well and we are behind them because of no state tax money, 8 million a year that goes to the university and 30 plus million that goes to Tom Benson that could be used by LSU. It is not looking good.

I just dont see miles crashing and burning like dinardo did. With the assets he has he should be able to keep winning 7,8,9 games a year at least based on 13 game seasons. Ron Zook like years as far as losses and completely unacceptable but not losing records.
Miles' flaws have prevented him from winning more games like he should have and more championships in this 10 year span when he had the talent to do such.
