(1) Yes they are, their stated goals have said so and their mission statement is to kill all infidels or convert them. It's really unbelievable to me that this is not plain as day to everyone.

These are the stated goals of ISIS, a faction armed, equipped and even trained by our GOVT. There is no plausible deniability here.

quote:

(2) Are you kidding ? We can't lock down the border and prevent democratic voters from coming in. On the real side, GWB would have went after and destroyed these bastards if not for the left wing nut jobs and the news media/dems propaganda arm hadn't of attacked him daily with false information, basically traitors. Just because the media repeats something daily doesn't mean you have to buy it.

Just like the hype about people pouring over the 'porous' borders??? This is a 'meme' repeated daily by the right-wing MSM. So I don't buy your premise about GWB. He was a foreign policy disaster.

quote:

(3) I think Obama's goal was a calphate state from the beginning, why else destabilize Libya, Egypt and try to put in the Muslim Brotherhood ? A terrorist organization that gave birth to both Hezbollah and the Palestinian terror group Hamas. His strategy on no boots will not work, he knows this, so a fee bombs and in a while he hopes America will lose interest in the matter.

Look, a Parrot is repeating the arguments of the right.

BTW, Hezbollah is referred to as 'Hezboshaytan' by Sunni groups that are under the Wahhabi ideology (AQ, AlNusra, ISIS, ISIL, etc.), meaning 'Party of Satan', rather than 'Party of God'. Hezbollah was started ~ 1982 with help of Iranian Shiites and the minority Shiites of Lebanon. I know this is complicated but please try and understand the difference b/w the two branches before spouting out BS.

quote:

(4) If we don't wipe out these crazy bastards now, they will continue to grow their territory, and eventually will find a way to nuke the western world.

Draw us a nice little cartoon picture of a bomb showing it 90% complete with a red-line, a la the UN presser on Iran's nuclear program.

I actually agree with AWANT...

Their motives are as insane as they are projected to be...which is usually not the case

This is what boggles my mind about ISIS. They had taken large swaths of territory in Iraq and Syria. They were generating tons of $. Everybody was leaving them alone and they appeared to be well on their way to establishing a caliphate - which was their stated goal.

Then they start beheading people (which would seem to be an effort to goad us in to going to war with them). We're just going to immediately eliminate their revenue streams (oil) and put them in a position of defending their territory (which is hard b/c they can't blend in with population like they do when on offensive).

It makes no sense.
Propaganda usually doesn't.

What boggles my mind is that after 13 years, human beings - with what I assume are functioning brains - still buy into this ever-contradictory and increasingly implausible fairy tale.

Yea, you long for the days of Saddam who murdered 1.6 million people and used chemical weapons . LOL at the dimwitted thought process of young liberals.

You, and you dumbazz liberal anti-American commie pinkos should have backed GWB at eradicating these terrorists POSs the first time, instead of giving aid and comfort to the enemy by attacking our president with BS lies.

FTR I'm in favor of annihilating these fricking psychos, but it's hilarious that every leftist on this board is in full support of this war when I know for a fact they'd all be screaming "War Criminal!!!" at the top of their lungs if the president had an R behind his name.

the exact oposite phenomenon would be in play with all actors should the R vs D roles be reversed. It is just ridiculous.

He probably destabilized the area more than cleaning it up.

You need to get your head out of your arse. GWB was no prince. GHWB also had his moments of hesitancy which cost us dearly.

Quit attacking people.

Was Saddam a terrorist threat to the US? Was he chopping American heads off? No. The one war where we actually went after terrorists, in Afghanistan, had broad public support. Liberals opposition to war under Bush wasn't nearly as simplistic as you guys like to believe.

This is the problem with the left. You all seem to think that war is some kind of video game.

I'd bet money that you actually believe that this is a problem unique to the left.

One of the points which was made in the OP really sums everything up, imo. Just 12 months ago, Obama was chomping at the bit to engage in military activity in Syria WHICH WOULD HAVE HELPED ISIS.

That states the problem in a nutshell, imo. This once-great country has foolishly elected a community organizer without a clue TWICE, and we are reaping what we have so stupidly sown. Domestically, internationally, and in every way imaginable.

So I guess you believe that we need to actually win the war, with boots on the ground, lots of spilled blood and treasure? Because that's what it will take. Air power will do almost nothing.

And you'd lose that bet.

However, they're certainly the most vocal about it.

Yes, he does. That's how we know that his thoughts have little value -- they are irredeemably tainted by blind ideological devotion to Obama.

It was “tried on you” in Vietnam !! really ?

For starters your premise is wrong, Vietnam was never a war with any threat that future terrorist, based on a fanatical beliefs, would eventually try and murder / convert people WORLDWIDE or else pay with there lives. The Vietnam war was a proxy war between communism and democracy / USA vs. Russia and China. The fear was what communism had accomplished in its first 100 years would spread worldwide

Mao Ze-Dong murdered 49-78 million people.

Joseph Stalin murdered some 20 million people. Others have estimated 35-50 million.

Communismn killed 94 million (possibly far more) people from 1900-2000 in China, Russia/Soviet Union, North Korea, Afhanistan and Eastern Europe. And you wonder why the U.S.A. was fighting the spread of this barbaric form of government / ideology !! really ?

Really?

You haven't noticed the trend of left-leaning posters with the attitude of "oh we can just throw some cruise missiles at the problem and that will fix everything"?

Because if you haven't, then I would posit the notion that you're just not paying attention.
