re: Anybody else afraid Quinn is gonna get broken out there?

My point is not that he is too small. It's that he's too small and not athletic enough to do what we're asking him to do. Both OBJ and Trindon were small players both no one can deny that they were both FREAK athletes. Quinn is athletic, but not on the level that those two were. Athleticism is not just about 40 times and verticals, it's about the ability to make someone miss. I haven't seen that skill in Quinn at this level (Fournette is struggling with that aspect as well).

No way he's as big as he's listed and he is not a good open field runner by college standards. You guys need to take off the P&G glasses.
Jesus. Go to bed.
Yes I am aware it is 7:40.
But please go to bed you fricking clown

You mean it is more like setting a national receiving record while on a 5A team or something like that...
This is why you are not coaching.

Please tell me you're not comparing playing in high school to playing in the SEC. I don't care what record he set playing against players that will never see the field for a D1 college team. It's not even comparable! Don't be that dumb.

i have a better idea. instead of giving him credit for being a high school all-american and setting national records against some of the best high school competition in the country, let's just judge him based off four games he's played as a true freshman against college players.....the kid is a phenomenal athlete, one of the most elite kids coming out of high school last year.

Yes he is. It was his 1st SEC game and the 4th game of his career. He was a little overwhelmed in the Miss St game and looked hesitant. Once he gets more comfortable out there and the game slows down for him, you will see the type of athlete he is.

Actually, it is. I think you meant to say football isnt all about athleticism or 40times or vert and what not. And I agree with that. For not seeing that seeing that skill in Quinn so far, read above. And havent seen it in LF? The guy who leads the team in ypc, tackles broken, and makes guys miss more than any other RB we have... havent seen it from that LF? Just making sure we are talking about the same guy.

Maybe he will be able to catch the ball and get out of bounds before he gets tackled.
Posted on 9/23/14 at 9:04 pm to StatMaster
Not at all!!! He needs the ball more, much more. The kid is a great talent and is in phenomenal shape.

He'll have to enjoy blocking for the power I. That's all I know.

dude quinn runs a 4.4 he is one of the fastest receivers on the team. He is a very good player and should return our punts he is very shifty and is really fast.

Statmaster,
I was done with this thread but hate inaccurate statements. The majority of the cornerbacks and safeties he faced the last two years of high school are either playing D1 ball or are being recruited currently. Not all of them in the SEC, some in FCS and mid major schools.

Could it be due to his whiteness that he can't possibly be as athletic as OBJ? Just throwing that out there. He's nearly the exact same player OBJ was at this point in their careers.
OBJ didn't do a whole lot in his first 4 games either if I remember correctly.

he had a long TD catch against WVU and about 60 yards receiving against State. But that was a much better TEAM. Really an unfair comparison. OP is still ignorant regardless
