What difference does that make. 1 win is still 1 win.

Also, look at the way we win a lot of our ballgames. It's a play not to lose style of play. Not a play to win the game style of play. He doesn't have that killer instinct that a head coach must have. Cool, we won a NC in 2007-2008. Hell, we got into the game by pure luck.

Dumb statement. Only 1 team that year had 1-loss. Everyone else had 2-losses. We smashed #3 VTech by almost 40 points and we won the SEC. That's what ultimately got us into the game.

He makes no adjustments...ever. You know what majority of people's definition of insane is? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. At some point, you have to change things and the simple fact of the matter is, he won't.

Did you watch the team at all last year? Maybe we went back to a boring running game, because our QBs aren't good enough to run a wide open offense yet. Let's be honest, Jennings has had 5 starts now and Harris was in high school last year and is still learning the playbook. It's foolish to think either of them are going to do what Mett did last year.

No loss is a good looking loss when you are competing as a NC contender.

But it seems those players skyrocket in the NFL. And my guess on that is because they actually get some good coaching and progress their talent levels to NFL standards.

Or because they bail out after 3 years instead of 4 or 5. Another year of experience and conditioning in college makes a huge difference in CFB.

Yeah, a NC is nice. No big deal.

I don't know. Sometimes the team plays better in the second half. Like against Wisc.

There's only been a few losses that weren't close and hard-fought, and most of those were in 2008.

We don't usually look good in our losses as a team. Not prepared, not excited or enthused. But

Which is how many teams look when they lose. But many LSU losses were hard-fought.

Meh.

You would think that after 5 starts Jennings would show improvement. But he hasn't. Harris looks like he's gotten better every time he sees the field. 6/9 140+ yds 2 TD's in two drives looks pretty damn good right now. And look at what aTm is doing right now with their new QB. Seems to be working out alright for them. Same with Bama's QB. They seem to be doing just fine with an inexperienced QB.

It is frustrating that only a senior QB can run LSU's offense

So you wrote a bunch of BS to state you think our players stay stagnant during their time here and don't progress until pros? What a load of crap. This just proves us miles pumpers right. If you guys don't like the product then don't watch it.

Really? Name one player minus Mett that has gotten significantly better upon enrolling at LSU under Miles.

You are one ignorant arse poster. How many times do people have to point out the obvious before you open your eyes?

If Les should have done anything different it should have been to keep those two junior DTs without decent draft grades on the team this year. One of those guys on the field in this game would have kept your arse quiet and not posting stupidity.

And yeah, 16 and 19 yr olds do look foolish at times when playing guys 2 and three years older than they are. It's called growing pains and they cost us the game. If Les was a loser then the team would not have come close to taking MSU's best punches and almost came back in the end.

And... you're a doooooooche.

Les has an extremely mature approach to coaching his teams. I see a ton of coaches making knee-jerk reactions to losses and other situations that arise in a program and NONE of them have the record that Les has. There's a method to his madness and you cannot deny his results. We need to see how this plays out.

Have to agree. Miles seems like a nice man but if y'all got a real good coach y'all would be like Bama-good every year competing for NC's or being right up there in 3rdish place in the nation. Y'all have so much talent but it's like it doesn't consistently get utilized the right way.

Best of all possible outcomes: CLM is a great guy and does seem LSU almost to the core (with forgivable shared space for Michigan). I would like, no - I would love to see him wake up out of his coaching trance and emerge as a confident, innovative and determined HC who will coach his teams to pursue victory (and not to just avoid losing). He will also entrust his assistants to expect and equip the skills and desire for excellence from the players; entrust the team to perform at highest levels all the time. And have the wisdom and resolve to make changes when needed (not way later) if or when staff or players are not doing their jobs. If CLM could just get himself to that point I doubt if anybody would be complaining (legitimately).

Quick lesson: If Coach A wins nine games in a ten-game season, he's won 90% of his games. If Coach B wins ten games in a twelve-game season he's won 83.333333% of his games. Your analysis doesn't make sense, but the latter winning percentage is not too shabby.

Don't we have a. 500 record when trailing entering the 4th?

And one could easily argue that we were fricked out of the title in 2011

Like when he hired Chavis and Cameron?

Like who? I would argue the opposite. The players who are great in the NFL were stars at LSU

Is this necessarily a good thing? There are other ways to interpret this stat.

Agreed.

Sometimes I feel lost amidst the pro and anti-miles crowds. Neither side will accept any of the points of view of the other, but both sides have valid points. I'm lukewarm on miles to be honest.

OBJ, Hill, Landry, TM7, PP7, Mo, Minter, Randle, JR, Flynn, Lee, Bowl, Lafell, Ridley, Brooks, Mingo, Ridley, Sheppard, Steltz, Dorsey, etc.

That was pretty damn easy actually
