I totally agree, but it helps to have an offensive line and defensive line, plus we play short with no mike linebacker. Welter, please.

It will take a major shift in how LSU approaches football to produce wins the way it is required in the SEC. Gone are the days that we can simply line up and punch you in the mouth and win a 10-7 game. Not saying that it cannot be done, but not with this team. Last year we masked a poor defense with exceptional offense. It's not just one player's responsibility to carry the TEAM. It's not the failures of just one MLB or one DT or one QB. It is the responsibility of the team. And until the players AND coaches can adjust, we are in for a long brutal season.

I'm not predicting games because it's completely subjective, but every win will come from the effort of both coaches and players who WANT to win a football game. Last night LSU did not want to win the game. They wanted to manage a win and MSU came to play and win.

I thought it after 1/9, I felt it after Ole Miss last year, and finally realized it last night. I have a bad feeling we are about to fall far and fast. It saddens me but I just don't think the man in charge is proactive enough to change things before it's too late.

I saw it in Les Miles' face. He had no answers
I saw it when they showed him on the sidelines in the second quarter. He was watching his team get physically manhandled and you could see on his face that there was nothing he could do about it. That is our main problem, we are fast, but you have to be strong and fast. We have gone down the Florida road and I am afraid it will take a couple of years come out of it.

Completely agree. Winning only hides the decline from those not knowledgeable to see it. The worst thing that can happen is to win the NC even if we win back to back NCs. It'll always be a decline. Always

yep. that was where he lost most people. we put up with his faults and overlooked them until 1-9 even though he was on the verge of being bought out if he lost 4 games again in 2010. he got lucky after the clusterfricks in 08 and 09. easily could have had 5 losses in 2010. overall performances were bad.

This is simply the arly entries catching up to us. Take a look at who could still be on the roster! U can not lose that many players every year abd stay on top!!

The real issue here is that LSU has simply not recruited well at key positions and failed to develop a lot of the diamond in the roughs they were able to get at those positions.

The coaches' refusals to adjust to the times has been detrimental to this team, and Les' insistence on sticking with his putrid style of coaching that results in little actual development for our young players in big games (i.e. SEC games) has continually stunted the potential for the future teams.

We are where we are now as a program because of these issues. Plain and simple, and I can't see Les fixing them because they are caused by things innate in his thinking and coaching.

arly NFL attrition killed Bobby Bowden, Spurrier at Florida, Urban Myer at Florida, Phil Fulmer at UTenn and even Pete Carroll at USCw. It appears the mighty Nick Saban is the only coach that is not affected by this attrition.

The reason he is not affected is because he NEVER has an off year recruiting. Sadly, even though the 2014 class for LSU was very, very good...we are looking at finishing outside of the Top 12 in recruiting in 2015. More importantly, Bama, AU, Texas A&M and maybe even Ole Miss will all finish ahead of us in 2015 recruiting.

I say all of this to illustrate that we are nearing the end of this run in LSU history. I think LSU has some inherent advantages in college football and we will be back. But we will not be back under Miles and it could be many years before we realistically compete for a national title again.

It has been a great ride and it sucks that it is over....but make no mistake, it is over.
