assuming teams already pay players is not that far fetched since teams have gotten caught and teams/conferences are actively trying to legalize paying players.

yeah here's that article about the ting brothers at usc with the steroids

carroll said they were retiring from the team to focus on academics

then someone leaked that one had tested positive for steroids

that was carroll's m.o. at usc - just try to hide all the bad and be the "player's coach"

cheating on the field with PEDs and cheating by paying players is not at all the same.
Then you have to revise your argument that it was legit because you "saw them with your own eyes win the championship". Otherwise your argument makes no sense.

But assuming all teams do it is a big leap.

Didn't Cushing also test positive?

So he got some steroid users off of his team but allowed them to save a little face in the process?

This Pete Carroll seems like a real bad guy. Good thing he had some cover by winning back to back titles.

it makes perfect sense. if I saw them with my own eyes and it turned out they all were on roids, they gained a significant on field advantage that would have helped them dominate.

that's not the same as paying players already on your team.

you keep trying to play devils advocate, but you're failing at it.

lance's cheating directly affected his performance. that's not the same

Today I learned that team performance has nothing to do with the composition of its members.

Because that is the only way you can argue cheating to get better players to get better performance is not the same as ingesting something to get better performance.

You are losing sight of the comparison because as a team sport the dynamic of relationship between the two isn't as clear.

But its still there.

That doesn't make any logical sense. When you say you saw them win with your own eyes, you are implying that history cannot be rewritten with the strike of a pen. Thus championships can never be taken away for any reason.

paying them is the reason they are on the roster!

how difficult of a concept is this?

lets say i get a 100 on a test

but get caught cheating after the fact

does that mean i really got a 100 on the test because i saw with my own eyes my grade before being caught?

A better analogy would be smoking pot and getting a 100. You did something illegal and made a 100, but the illegal act had no bearing on your score.

Now you are going to try and crawfish and hide behind vageries.

If I say "Well they probably wouldn't have had all of those players at once if they didn't do that," you'll retort that it is just an hypothectical, that there is no way to know it would have made a difference, and all around assume that USC just wasted their money as insurance against something that was probably going to happen anyway.

And that counter argument is asinine, bullshite and all around stupid.

So:

Alright, I'm done. Lots of logical fallacies in your argument. It was fun.
