47% of Americans would either support secession or are undecided on the issue, while a further 53% would be opposed to such a move.

Secession is for losers. You have a moral duty to fix a broken government, not run away and form another one.

1/4 of Americans also believe that George Bush planned 9/11.
At least 1/4 of Americans are retarded.
And if that doesn't scare you, think about this:
At least 1 American is SpidermanTUba

Put the power back into the hands of the individual states and few would care about secession. The federal government should really only be in charge of the military and settling disputes between states.

Kinda reminds me of the Man Show episode where Adam and Jimmy were in the streets collecting signatures to "end women's suffrage" and all of the dumbass women who actually signed it.
Wouldn't surprise me if some of the people thought "seceding" meant "succeeding."

Having said that, some of the states that have the biggest mouths are states that the US government created after buying the territory, so I guess they would have to reimburse the US if they want to leave. But the truly big mouth state of Texas would be a part of Mexico if it wasn't for this country. So yes, I guess they would solve their border problem because there wouldn't be a Southern border in a short period of time.

As George Carlin once said: "Think about how stupid the average American is, and then realize that half of them are even dumber than that."

Just curious...what percentage think Elvis is still alive?

I am in favor of it, and there's no real legitimate historical or constitutional argument against it (and anyone that cites Texas v. White can frick themselves - there is no damned way the USSC was going to say secession was legal 4 years after the war ended).
