You have gutters on the cabin? If not, find some renovation project that is giving old ones away, check CL or buy some cheap gutters and get a container for rain water as suggested, 12v pump as suggested and just shower outside next to the rain barrel, get you a laundry basket for your dishes and do those outside as well?????

No gutters but I can find something to collect rainwater. I was just thinking since a lake was 100 ft away I could use that but the way you explained it to me makes me think I can pull something like that off

Wick's drawing is what you need. You do not have to make it that elaborate though.

You need a gutter to funnel water into a container. I used a black 55gal drum at my last off the grid camp. Cover the top with a couple screens, and add bleach to the water every month or so. A 12v pump will give you plenty of pressure for a shower and dishwashing. I didn't have a toilet, just an outhouse I had made. Adding a toilet adds a good bit of extra effort. Gutters, container, pump, plumbing, sink and shower is a 4 hr project for a solid B+ redneck.

I would not recommend using Lake water as you might get the runs pretty bad from drinking it.

A cistern would work with a gutter on the roof feeding to a catch tank. You need to be able to divert the water for a while to let the dust and bird crap wash off the roof before feeding your tank.

When in doubt, add water purification tabs or bleach to the tank to kill the bad bugs and bird shite bacteria.

Make a homemade wood fire powered water heaters. The game camps in Africa have them.

They look sor'ta like the one shown about half way down the page on this link. The better ones are mounted in the air so you get gravity flow to your shower head. Fill it with a pump an dlite the fire. In twenty minutes, you have boiling hot water. You must have cold water service too, because the water gets blazing hot and water temperature that wont take your hide off requires adjusting the showering temp with cold water.

Wood fired home made water heater

If ground water table is fairly high, there are some compact well drilling units that will pull in with a four wheeler. hey wont drill very deep or through rock, but you may find someone who will drill a small shallow well for you. I'd put an elevated tank up and hand pump the water from the well to it for gravity pressure.

This is what we have at our hunting camp minus the filtration and bladder shite and it works great. As for hot water, we use a gas fired house water heater hooked up to a large propane tank.

My camp has electricity, a window unit,....and that's it

sounds like you shouldnt be hanging out at a camp if you cant do basic handy man stuff. you might get your self kilt by doing something stupid like chopping wood.
