It appeared as though Mark Fuller was going to fly below radar without ever paying the price for beating the crap out of his wife, but then the Ray Rice video surfaced, which prompted every politician under the sun to go out and prove his/her anti-domestic violence bona fides.

quote:

After Roland Martin shined a spotlight on Alabama Judge Mark Fuller, Congresswoman Terri Sewell became the first member of Congress to call for the federal judge’s resignation. Why? Because in the wake of the scandal over Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, Fuller, a federal judge, is in the midsts of a domestic violence scandal.

Federal judges have lifetime appointments to the federal bench.

After Martin spoke on the case over the last ten days on his show #NewsOneNow on @TVOne, Chris Hayes did a segment on Judge Fuller last night on MSNBC. Congress has the power to remove federal judges from the bench. Over the last ten days, many members of Congress have commented and contacted the NFL over Ray Rice but have said nothing on Mark Fuller.

There's no video, but there is the audio of his wife's 911 call, and it's pretty damning.

We'll then shouldn't anyone that allows Bill Clinton to speak anywere be dealt with in a loathsome way?

He was accused of rape and had sex with a lowly intern.

Suspend him from the bench for a couple of weeks then if video comes out when can do something more serious. #rogergoodell

Ted Kennedy drowned a bitch is lauded as a hero. dunno the relevance tbh, I just wanted to say drowned a bitch. #waronoxygen

In all seriousness if dude was convicted then he should be removed, but not before. This is a state position, not a private entity and due process should apply IMO.

FWIW, this occurred a couple of weeks before the Ray Rice video and there was growing sentiment in this state for him to resign. The Rice video certainly added fuel to the fire, but there would have been people calling for his job regardless, IMO.

Also, this is his 2nd wife and there are reports his first marriage ended because he abused her.
