Because I'm speaking to the asshats that do it that go on TD. Quit being "that guy/guy" in class.

I just started grad school and have a number of these people in my classes. But these frickers just start talking in the middle of class and interrupt the teacher. And it's always to try to sound smart. Annoying.as.shite.

Maybe they are Michelle Obama fans.....

Michelle Obama Wishes She’d Raised Her Hand Even More In High School

Michelle Obama is an extremely intelligent woman, and you can chalk that up to her voracious appetite for education. The FLOTUS attended a Get Schooled rally at Booker T. Washington high school in Atlanta last week, where she encouraged students to take control of their learning experience in order to build a brighter future.
She admitted that she’s always been obsessed with school, and yes — she was that overly dedicated student that annoyed you for raising their hand so often in class (unless you were that kid too).

I used to always end up sitting near his dad at national sales meetings.

This is why I rarely went to class at LSU below junior year. All of the dumbasses are weeded out by then, mostly. If you have to ask multiple questions in class, just go to the teacher after class or during office hours. I got it the first time the teacher explains it or when I read it in the book on my own, so listening to others' questions is torture. Stupid people are just the worst.

usually it's someone that wants everyone to know how smart they think they are.

Tell him to shut up on class possibly?

Who the frick decided that Michelle Obama is "an extremely intelligent woman"?
That is my takeaway from this thread, although I am of the opinion that you shouldn't speak in class unless the prof is specifically leading a discussion or you are in a situation with a prof that can barely speak English so somebody needs to slow him the frick down periodically.

I would do this in high school. Well, not so much ask questions, but to point out how the teacher was flat out wrong. I could usually point to the exact spot in the book that proved she was wrong or just point it out.
But that was high school.
But that was high school.

Certainly not me. Can't stand her.

Why isn't the teacher telling him to STFU?

Eh...and when we had training for work and the instructor would just give wrong information.
Like saying an hurricane or tornado was a "Force du Jour" (that means "force of the day". Force majeure is the term for an Act of God.)
Or telling us to be careful of using a defibrillator on someone with a nitroglycerine patch, "y'know, like the stuff that's in TNT."
(TNT is trinitrotoluene and doesn't contain nitroglycerin.)
Stuff like that irks me so. I don't think there is a problem in supplying correct information, otherwise disinformation is perpetuated.

The absolute worst were the dumbfricks in my 1L classes that would try to outsmart the prof or point out all the insignificant holes in a profs hypo.
Posted on 9/17/14 at 8:56 am to VermilionTiger
What class brah? Physics again?

That sounds so empowering, tell me more.

I got older people in both my classes that do this shite
Great point. Older people in my classes always felt the need to input their opinion on EVERYTHING. They always had a comment or question. It was irritating.

If you asked more questions, maybe you'd know when to use that and when to use who.

Yeah, same here. And on top of it, he was a fat frick who literally weighed over 500 pounds and had one of those fattie wheelchairs. He was well into his 30s, everyday brought in a Sonic Route 44 drink and chili cheese fries as if just to flaunt his worthlessness, and 3 minutes couldn't go by in class without this human excrement opening his black hole. One day driving by, saw my sister's roommate lifting this fat piece of shite's wheelchair into his van, while he reclined on the car. Really hated that guy.

Yep. Occasionally you'll get a black girl that wants to be an overachiever, but that's about it.
In one of my poli sci classes, we had the token old guy who wanted to show off his wisdom that racial slurs are just words and people shouldn't be offended.
He then proceeded to list off every racial slur that may exist in the English language. I don't think an ethnicity was left unoffended. The black girl in our class ended up storming out in protest.
