I'm intelligent in certain ways and the girl I'm marrying is way smarter than I am. Our brains mixed together would be one hell of a human being. If we produce a dumbshit drop-out who cant do basic math I'll be disappointed as frick.
it's not even disappointment
it's not easy to talk to dumb people. imagine having to do that at length every day for 20 years
and then imagine the just simple frustrations not being able to communicate at the level you prefer with something you care about and WANT to be able to be at that level. that has to be emotionally draining to do every day for 18 hours

We don't even know who my niece's real dad is. But her adopted dad is not a great guy
I'm not saying you're wrong for feeling that way. I was just wondering where it came from

Not only did he dismiss it, but he added a cringey counterargument

You said people in the 9th Ward need to be shown a medium rare steak prior to tasting and seeing a McDonald's hamburger prior to a blind tasting.
it's not about the tasting (like with wine)
it's about the perceived value and the desire that comes with. you have to perceive the item to value it. you have to value it to compare and choose
that's why i said this is NOT a "experts can't taste the difference in wine" comparison

Don't forget that people want to enjoy their life. Who would want to waste unrecoverable years of his life in solitude trying to invent something that would have a high chance of failing?
the people who are capable and have the drive and desire to do that, do..the people who don't go socialize.

Yes it is. You said they would rather eat a McDonald's burger than a medium rare steak.
Value has nothing to do with it if they aren't paying for it.

Dude, you just wanna jerk off and be lazy when it comes to sex. You found a line of thinking that suits that.
The end.
The end.

what if you used those resources to develop an app/algorithm that profited you $5B and you get more superior girls with even less effort with the money?
The probability of you creating something worth $5Billon dollars is astronomically small.
In 2013 there were about 200,000 people in the world with over 30 millions dollars in assets. Most of those people I'm sure did not invent something to put them there, and they are not close to 5 billions, but for the sake of argument let's assume they did invent something and were not born into that money. That means you have a 200,000 in over 7 billion chance of inventing something at absolute maximum.
So, the reasonable person like you who only wants to bang educated intelligent women that " he would want to raise a child with" would choose to sharpen his skills and become an expert in picking up those types of women, who are not easy to find and then bang with small effort, rather than jacking off all the time and hoping one of those women fall into his lap. Because the notion that you will find a woman like that and win her over without trying is illogical.
Therefore, the resources and time it costs you to sharpen your skills and find a suitable mate are far better used than whatever it is you do after you jack off which is probably play video games or post on tigerdroppings. Not invent some world changing app
On top of all this, how many billionaires can you point to with successful, intelligent, breeding stock women as their women of choice?
Now how many can you point to with dipshit lazy dumbass children they popped out of their fake arse trophy wives?
Just money will not get you the educated intelligent woman you are after.

his response was one of the better, if not the best, post in here.
and of course you pretty much dismiss it
because in the big picture it only goes so far
the #1 peacocking variable in life is power. then money. most of us aren't going to be gangsters or authoritarian dicators, so we can start with money
he created the subjective valuation that "confidence is the goal" and ran with it. i have nothing against confidence or using resources to shield/build it. confidence is a very good trait if you want to devote personal resources to get girls and if you have no other efficient means of achieving that goal
confidence is a valued characteristic, but it's not the only one (or the top one). i just pointed out that there are more efficient uses of resources for many people that will net you a better haul
but if we go about this in hive-mind and assume confidence is the only way to achieve the goal, then yeah his response wins
that's not reality, though

He lives in Lake Charles. He needs to move to San Fran, NYC or Boston.

I relish and sometimes hope for bad news or disasters.
Me too, as a kid I would wish for hurricanes. I really enjoyed how neighbors who rarely spoke would pitch in to help board up windows and batten down the hatches.
My brother and I would affix two by fours to the handlebars of our bike and make sails out of my mothers bed sheets. You really haven't lived until you bike sailed during a hurricane in the petrochemical air of Norco.
I also enjoyed the street flooding.
As a property owner, I try imagine me not being excited that a hurricane is coming.

i honestly would have MAJOR trouble if i had a child of average or below average intelligence
No you wouldn't you just think you would bc you're super smart so you hold intellect in high regard, plus you don't have kids. You assume you would have more in common with and idnetify more with the smarter kid but thats not neccesarily true. The kid with the lesser IQ will have different qualities and strengths that you will love ab him/her. He/she may posses endearing characteristics that you don't have that you wish you did (the less astute kid avoids the friendzone like a champ) and you will admire that. You may end up favoring one over the other but not in the way you envision. I think you will find out a lot about yourself and even surprise yourself when parenthood comes along.

i said they'd pick the mcdonalds over the medium-rare steak. they value it more highly

perceived value does. and they value a mcdonalds burger...like i said many wouldn't even eat a non-well done steak
when you add in costs, they'd for sure pick teh burger
