I like the Tigers at home.
1) Home crowd - Loud and proud
2) O line shows up (#74 gets arse chewed in film room and comes out in beast mode)
3) D getting better and better.
4) Special teams have been close to breaking one, this time they reach paydirt.
Tigers 28-17

LSU will win because they're playing Moo St

LSU hasn't lost to Mississippi State this millennium.

Moo State will win because SloFloPro is still not the LSU Head Coach

Since Bill Arnsparger became coach at LSU, we have lost to Moo State on 4 occasions - 2 times in Starkville, 1 time in Jackson (1990) and 1 time in Baton Rouge.
Out of our 6 head coaches from Arnsparger through Miles - the first four all dropped a single game to MSU - Arnsparger and Hallman in their first years - Archer and Dinardo in their last.
But, the closest they've come since is Saban's 1st year, a nailbiter that went into OT in Baton Rouge. It was one of the best football games I'd ever seen. They outrushed us by 19 yards, we outpassed them by 31. We lost the TO battle, but won the TOP battle. We were down 14 points going into the 4th quarter, scored 3 touchdowns, then let them tie it.
A heavy dose of Booty to Reed, as well as Lebrandon Toefield running was required that day (and that was WR Reggie Robinson's best game at LSU, 10 catches, 102 yards).
Since then - it's been close at times, but we've beaten MSU like a drum since Stovall was coach (and dropped 4 straight to them). We haven't trailed in the head-to-head series since 1926.
Since Miles became coach, we've scored 338 points against, and given up 130 points - over 9 games, that makes an average result 37 1/2 to 14 1/2.
Having said all of that - history means nothing. MSU is playing with a lot of confidence, they have as much talent as they've had in a while and are well coached.
If we start slowly (which I expect - young QB starting his first SEC game) this could be a dog fight (sorry for the pun) until the very end.
LSU wins because:
1.) Home
2.) Team speed on defense
3.) Running game
4.) Improved execution of short/middle passing game
5.) Improved pass protection
6.) Too much talent and depth of that talent, for MSU to handle

I love LSU and our fans (for the most part), but I am getting tired of our fan's reasonings being:
We are LSU
They are MSU
Guys, there are plenty of real reasons why LSU should win this game and I appreciate the OP saying more than just we are LSU. That is so Bama sounding it is sickining.
Miss St is not hte slouch they have been the last 20 years. They are improved and I think serious talk on this game should be implemented rather than this cupcake type conversation most LSU fans are throwing around.
Personally I think our offense will be able to score on Miss St. They have really struggled in the secondary and I think we get the passing game going and actually have an impressive passing performance. I also think our defense will stack the box and try and force Dak to throw the ball. This D has been stout and I have a feeling this streak of 0's can really spark some of that old LSU swagger.

LSU will win because...
1) It's Saturday Night in Death Valley. LSU doesn't lose at night in DV.
2) LSU WR's matchup up well with our DBs
MSU will win becuase...
1) Dak will carry the reins of the offense and have success on the ground which will open up the passing game.
2) Our impact players are from Louisiana and want to make a statement
3) We are due
ETA: I will never predict our team to win in DV until it actually happens. That being said, LSU is gonna have to beat us by throwing the ball (which is likely). I just don't see LSU dominating the run game like previous games.

LSU will win because they have better talent and home field advantage
MSU could win b/c they will have an effective gameplan to begin the game(like Wisconsin). They will be winning at half. LSU has lucked out many times in recent history. They are due. Also Mullin is a good corch. They are better than we think.

I think we win but this game will be closer than people think. If we blow them out then i'll be sold on this team.
27-20 LSU

We win because we have depth in the last 1.5 quarters to over power them, and because our secondary is scary good.
