I was thinking the same thing. Beating the shite out of people in school has always been "against the rules" but eventually bullies get what they deserve (e.g. some kid snaps and beats the ever living hell out of him on the school bus or something). It is the parents' job to stand up for their kids actions, especially after alerting the school to the bullying multiple times.
Anyway, if the bully is still in school, your kid will be there too after he beats the shite out of said bully. Tell him it's OK.

The only solution is to contact the dad and set up a tag team match.
You and your boy versus the bully and his dad.
No holds barred, winner takes all.

I had another kid messing with me a lot in elementary school. My principal actually told me to "knock his block" off, which I always thought was pretty cool. I'm only 24, but I grew up in a pretty conservative place, so I guess it depends where you go to school.

Sure at a public park or something
But the school has expressly forbid it. Even the five year old gets this. Going to the principal or school board will get it done

Obviously not.

Imagine that, without a positive male influence in his life, a kid gets raised to be a pussy and run to tell on someone else instead of standing up for himself.
Sometimes you lose even if you "win" unless you fight your own battles.

As said before, my rules are more important than this zero tolerance bullshite. If he's tried the teacher route and it's not working the boy needs to defend himself.

No, not always and you can't confidently make this blanket statement. As it's been presented here it is obviously not working.
He needs to teach his son how to defend himself. It is very important at such a young age. Before you know it, this kid will be pussified and there will be no turning back once it's ingrained in him to let people walk all over him.

Schools usually seem pretty strict about bullying. Sounds silly, but if you use the word bully you may get a better response. (fricking bureaucrats).

i have taught shotokan and judo for almost 20 years to mostly kids still in school. I always teach them that if they can walk away from a confrontation do it...if not, and you have no choice, make em pay as best you can.
Sure, there is a no tolerance policy, not that its smart, but its there. So I've told my students to do all they can to not get into a fight, but at the same time, do not stand there and take a shot. they are to actively defend themselves.
Ive lived next door to a public school principle for 15 years and this topic has seen many of bourbon between us. Just cause its a rule, does not mean its a smart rule he told me. Smart man.

He emailed them. That's a pussy way to deal with it
He needs to make them hear that he's serious

And tell them that the "bully" made a "gun" with his finger and pointed it at your kid.
They'll probably send the cops out to arrest him at that point.

It's true. Kids kill themselves over being bullied

If you want your kid to stop getting his arse beat and don't want him in the middle of a stupid zero tolerance policy debate, do the following:
1) Wait until the kid picks on him again.
2) Go back to the school with evidence showing that "they would take care of it."
3) Say the following words: "I don't think ___________ School takes bullying very seriously. I was told that this would be dealt with. Who knows what kinds of long-term issues my kid could have after the adults around him allowed him to continue to be bullied? I think I need to talk to my lawyer about this whole deal. I was also approached by (local news channel) at my house after making an online comment about bullying in the local schools."
4) If that doesn't solve the problem for good, you're going to have to have a meeting with other kid's parents.

Bad advice. The little guy needs to learn to defend himself. Nows a good time to learn. Or whats he gonna do when he's 25 and gets pushed on the street....call the cops?
The dad already went to the teacher, who went to the principle and they replied back bud did nothing about it. Writing to the principle doesn't affect the bully. Hitting the bully will get through to him. Anyway most bullies at that age are just pussies to begin with.

They probably wouldn't if they had a strong male role model that taught them how to defend themselves.
Unfortunately in today's society either the man in their lives are pussies or they're being raised by a single mother who has no clue on what it takes to make a little boy into a man.
Throwing around the word "bully" may resolve the immediate problem, but the kid still doesn't know how to stand up for himself.

Well that's a disturbing sentence when taken out of context.
